"Yikes, you guys are sensitive and your particular conclusion about my question was just strange."

You're generally sensitive and strange, so... pot-kettle

"It's a real conflict for me when I go to a concert and find out somebody in the audience is a Republican or fundamental Christian," she confessed. "It can cloud my enjoyment," she pouted.

Linda simply has no idea how rude she was to her audiences. And typical of the NYTimes to co-enable bad behavior.

Yup, how fast would the NYT RUSH to defend someone who said that? But sadly, The Left bashes Christians like this all the time.

She probably carries a picture of Brando in her wallet.

Alongside the one of Governor Moonbeam.

"HEY NOW! That Nelson Riddle Orchestra carried Ronstadt's lame a$$ on those albums! So neener. "

No arguement. It's still elevator music and a very good non-narcotic sleep aid.

one of my sisters yelled out, "Not on MY time you don't!"

Your sisters know more about the entertainment industry than Ronstadt.

She's now proving that the smartest thing to ever come out of her mouth was Gov. Moonbeam's ... oh, never mind.

Get their head up out of their mashed potatoes? I find this so amusing, has anyone seen a picture of the mashed potato Queen (Ms R) lately?

Will she tone down her outrage?

Fat chance!

"This is an election year," she huffed to The Los Angeles Times. "I want people to get their head up out of their mashed potatoes and learn something about the issues and go and vote."

This, from someone who looks like she can't get her had out of her mashed potatoes either.

I think she's always had a weight problem. I remember browsing through a people magazine many, many years ago that had high school pictures of celebrities.

It showed her's and I had to look 3-4 times to make sure I was connecting the name with the right face.

She was bleached blonde and fat as a cow.

Course, once she left Tucson for LA, she launched on a self-improvement diet that consisted of lots of nose candy.

I have all her old albums; she had always been one of my favorite singers.

I saw her perform once at Red Rocks near Denver during her heyday, in 1976. Great performance and no pontificating; she shut up and sang.

The carbs she's ingesting must be affecting her brain cells worse than all that cocaine she used to do.

You know Linda seems to think it her "Free Speech" right to tell you what to think and how to vote when she really should be up there doing her job… singing to entertain us…that is the job she being payed to do

I wonder how she react in react it all the other people she encounter during the day doing there jobs for her gave her there political two cents

Think of it… in the hotel… the bellhop, the front desk clerk, that maid (leaves a note with the little mint” vote Bush”).....topped off with while flying back to LA... the Capt. gets on the intercom:

“Lady and Gentleman this is you Capt. We will be flying at 30,000 feet, with some light air turbulence… and by the way Michael Moore in a big fat idiot and please for the sake of our country please, please, please vote for Bush...now I want to thank you for flying with us today and I would like to dedicate the remainder of this flight to the Republican party”

The only two jobs in this world where the guy working seem to think it there “free speech right” to run the mouth at you while working are Cabbys and Entertainers

>>>>"she assumes she is the only one who knows what is going on">>>>>>>

I have recently had a falling about this with a very good friend. She & her husband are liberals & I got tired of being preached to one night. I told him (the husband) that he was free to say anything he wanted & I was free *not* to listen. The next day when I told her I didn't want him to preach to me anymore she informed me he was VERY well informed (the idea was that he could set me straight on things). He reads the NYT & really thinks he is well informed (poor idiot).

It's a damn shame, really. Ronstadt once said Rosemary Clooney was one of her icons. When I think of great performers who had long enduring careers, Rosemary would certainly be right up there. Too bad Ronstadt didn't study a little harder.
