"This worries me"

It shouldn't. Many of the Okla. Dems that voted for Carson in a primary, will vote for Coburn in a general election. Most Okies may be registered Dems but the general vote Republican in a general election for federal offices. Oklahoma is solidy for President Bush, they won't vote for him and not send another Republican senator to Washington. Carson is toast against Coburn.

I think you're right. OK may have quite a few registered dems, but they're not really dems any more at least not on the national level. Like many in the southern states, they feel the dem party at the national level has left them and they now find the Pubbies much more represent their values.

Coburn will make an awesome senator. He's an ideologue who will be a real conservative stalwart.
