"Last Thursday we heard John Kerry assert that he will take responsibility for what is said at this convention, and tonight John Kerry's partner in the Senate and political mentor of 20 years attacked the President in a base and personal way without identifying one positive aspect of John Kerry's record or vision. This night exemplified the anger, pessimism and negativity of the Democratic Party."
- Jim Dyke, RNC Spokesman
John Kerry: "I'm Putting On This Convention, So Obviously I Care About The Tone And I'll Be Responsible." (Jill Lawrence and Martin Kasindorf, "Interview: On Iraq, 'The President Broke His Word,'" USA Today, 7/23/04)
Sen. Kennedy Attacks President Bush's Honesty And Intelligence. "In the White House, inscribed on a plaque above the fireplace in the state dining room, is a prayer - a simple but powerful prayer of John Adams, the first president to live in that great house. It reads: 'I pray heaven to bestow the best of blessings on this house and on all that shall hereafter inhabit it. May none but the honest and wise ever rule under this roof.' In November, we will make those words ring true again." (Sen. Edward Kennedy, Remarks At The Democratic National Convention, Boston, MA, 7/27/04)
Sen. Kennedy Says President Bush "Brings Fear," Quotes FDR, Then Says "The Only Thing We Have To Fear Is Four More Years Of George Bush." "This administration does neither. Instead it brings fear. Fear of rising costs for health care and for college, fear of higher unemployment and lesser pay, fear for the future of Social Security and Medicare, fear of greater bigotry, fear of pollution's stain on our magnificent natural heritage, fear of four more years of dreams denied and promises unfilled and progress rolled back. In the depths of the Depression, Franklin Roosevelt inspired the nation when he said, 'The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.' Today, we say the only thing we have to fear is four more years of George Bush." (Sen. Edward M. Kennedy, Remarks At The Democratic National Convention, Boston, MA, 7/27/04)
Sen. Kennedy Says Struggle Is With "Some Monarch Named George Who Inherited The Crown." "Sometimes the fight is waged in Congress or the courts; sometimes on foreign shores, like the battle that called one of my brothers to war in the Pacific, and another to die in Europe. Now it is our turn to take up the cause. Our struggle is not with some monarch named George who inherited the crown. Although it often seems that way. Our struggle is with the politics of fear and favoritism in our own time, in our own country. Our struggle, like so many others before, is with those who put their own narrow interest ahead of the public interest." (Sen. Edward M. Kennedy, Remarks At The Democratic National Convention, Boston, MA, 7/27/04)
Sen. Kennedy Attacks "False Patriots Who Bully Dissenters Into Silence And Submission." "We hear echoes of past battles in the quiet whisper of the sweetheart deal, in the hushed promise of a better break for the better connected. We hear them in the cries of the false patriots who bully dissenters into silence and submission. These are familiar fights. We've fought and we won them before. And with John Kerry and John Edwards leading us, we will win them again and again and again and make America stronger at home and respected once more in the world." (Sen. Edward M. Kennedy, Remarks At The Democratic National Convention, Boston, MA, 7/27/04)
Is there a thread on Theresa's speech?
You talking about old Submarine Commander Edward Milhous Kennedy, the swimmer?
He's a disgrace, not just to the Dumb party, but to humanity itself.
Thank heaven for poor Mary Jo Kopechne. If it weren't for her, the swimmer would have been President of the United States.
as much as this garbage upsets me, I honestly think kennedy is a clear liability for Ketchup & Curry, the more he spews this venom the better
Teddy has really hurt himself
That's a good graphic. She was a pretty girl.
You know SmartA, I think he knows it is talked about on the internet all the time. I wouldn't doubt that people have made remarks to him.
Maybe we need to call him on the phone and say 'you are a dumba$$!'
If you read your email today, that remark would have had a double meaning!!
Yes, the Boston Project that went on for years and cost more and more millions as time went on!! Bet the people weren't too happy with the street situation while it was being worked on!
The cost over-runs were monumental. How about five Billion.
This is by far the most disgusting, vicious, and lying attack on our President I have ever seen. Ted Kennedy should be forced to resign his Senate Seat and apologize to the President and the citizen's of this country for this reprehensible and irresponsible attack that was not only demeaning to himself, but to all of us as a nation.
His brother, John F. Kennedy was the one who got me interested in politics when I was very young, and to think that this is what his brother has become would disgust him too IMO
