NASA defends photos of Kerry during his tour of space center

CAPE CANAVERAL-- There was no "dirty trick" behind the photographs of Sen. John Kerry wearing the blue anti-contamination suit while touring the shuttle Discovery on Monday.

Not true, said NASA. Government photographers routinely snap pictures of visiting dignitaries.

Kerry's group more than qualified as dignitaries: four U.S. senators, two of whom were former astronauts, John Glenn and Bill Nelson. NASA often posts such pictures on its Internet sites for the public and reporters.

Furthermore, NASA spokesman Bill Johnson said the Kerry campaign asked that the pictures be taken of the senator's unusually up-close tour of the Discovery and that processing be expedited so reporters could have them.

Hmmm, maybe this was a RAT ploy afterall. Have people talk about the NASA photo instead of directing interest at the RAT convention, which is just a week of preaching to the choir.

They need to keep Joe Lockhardt on retainer just in case of any more of these photo-op pictures find their way into the press.

Yeah, he was probably chagrined to look like any ordinary worker bee. Ooh, how lower classe! Probably screamed at his press secretary to claim it was a set-up rather than his eminence having to suffer the indignity of laughing off the goofiness of the special workclothes.

"ME? Laugh at myself? Non, non -- zat iz for les pessants!" Such "a man of the people" we shouldn't have to endure for another 90+ days, let alone < shudder > four years.

Why should the Kerry campaign be up in arms about the Kerry's OompaLoompa moment, unless they, too, thought he looked like a dork in the get-up?

NASA rues the day this demanding prima donna assh*le narcissist Kerry ever showed up.

Serves the compulsive liars in the Kerry team of sociopaths right. So much for their real concern for the "little people." Arrogant creeps got exactly what their evil behavior deserved!

The Heinz Kerrys are a non-stop nightmare for the rat party political handlers.

Both are arrogant fools. She is a loose cannon psychotic and obviously (poorly) medicated.

Ketchup Gigolo Kerry is so narcissistic and shallow, he is almost Asperger's-like in his social cluelessness in dealing with all the Little People he hopes to fool.

Two men parodying John Kerry (news - web sites) and Michael Dukakis greet people walking into the Fleet Center for the second day of the Democratic National Convention in Boston, Tuesday, July 27, 2004. John Kerry made a campaign appearance in a NASA (news - web sites) protective suit one day earlier, while Dukakis donned military gear for an infamous photo op during his 1988 presidential campaign. The men declined to give their real names. (AP Photo/Rick Bowmer)

Some of these advance men and campaign workers can be a royal pain in the butt. They hound you for days in advance with so many bizarre requests for stuff like back-up cellphone batteries or Diet Coke in a glass bottle or who knows what that by the time the Exhalted Personage shows up, the people who have to support the dog & pony show are really PO'ed.

Sounds like some advance man pushed the photographer around and asked for expedited handling of these photos, and he got it in spades.

heh heh...

It is also worth noting that Kerry usually has his own man taking pictures. In this case, since it was a restricted area, NASA provided the photographer. It makes you really appreciate the artistic talent of Kerry's usual photographer that he doesn't look like a complete dipstick, day after day.
