Unfortunately, I don't think that they would be able to do that.
Even though there were many Medal of Honor winners who came out in support of the president the other day, the "Swift Boat Veterans for Truth", "Vietnam Vets Against John Kerry", and other liked-minded groups, are nonpartisan.
That's the dilemma here.
Even the protest outside of the convention center didn't seem to attract much media attention.
I agree, and I do not think this is hyperbole. The man seems genuinely fractured in his head. Who would do such a thing, and why? There's no comforting answer, just believable ones - blind ambition; consciously trying, even 30 years ago, to fashion himself as a war hero with his mind set on this day. Makes a Bond villain or the Manchurian candidate seem naive by comparison. Folks, this is real!
It's all about power.
Are you sure he didn't say, "All the vets on stage from Lt. Kerry's swift boat will support him?"
I wouldn't despair. The RNC can use surrogates if they don't want to attack Kerry directly on his service record. Once the Dems officially nominate Kerry, the Bush campaign will shift into another gear. There is still plenty of time left. The general public won't focus on the election until after Labor Day. Look at the TV ratings for the Dem convention.
Kerry; "Ladies and Gentlemen, let me introduce the men who served with me in Nam, pay no attention to their chains"
They didn't broadcast the freak-show that was Tuesday's ceremonies, including the speech delivered by the horrifying Wife of Frankenstein, but somehow managed to devote an entire hour to the speakers last night.
Verrry Interrrresting.
Positive. He said "All the vets that were on Kerry's swift boat will be on stage to support him".

Kerry is a FAKE.
KERRY IS A FAKE, A PRETENDER.
Steve Gardner served under Kerry as his gunner for 2.5 months. He also says that they never got within 50 miles of Cambodia, contrary to Kerry's "Christmas Eve in Cambodia" tale in Tour of Duty.
