July 30, 2004 -- BOSTON It was planned with the precision of a military operation but the drop of 100,000 red, white and blue balloons for John Kerry went so horribly wrong that the convention producer screamed out the F-word over national TV. "Balloons. What's happening, balloons? There's not enough coming down. All balloons. Where the hell there's nothing falling. What the f- - - are you guys doing up there?" shrieked the producer, Don Mischer. The live feed was carried over CNN, and Internet maven Matt Drudge quickly posted a request for anyone who'd taped the expletive undeleted to send him an audio file within minutes he had it posted on his site.

"He wanted balloons? Weren't Ted Kennedy and Michael Moore still there?"
He wanted balloons- not blimps!
Running afoul of the law of gravity is, you must admit, not an everyday event. Balloons and confetti are tough customers. Sometimes you need to "pull some strings" to get them to behave. Do you think Kerry, if elected, would manage this country's affairs with the same aplomb and competence as this memorable moment?
And coming around the back stretch here at Pimlico is 'Go Balloons', and a half length following behind is 'Sandy Pants' and 'Shove It' just another length behind ...............
The timing of the ballon drop is 'very suspicious!'
