Nope, it was in 1967, when they pre-empted an Egyptian and Syrian attack on Israel, during the 6-th day war. In 1973, it was a much closer call as the Arabs achieved some kind of operational surprise in the opening stages of the conflict.
Oh, and by the way, France did not sell any warplane to Egypt (against whom we launched a joint operation with Israel and the UK, only to be ordered to step down by the US, ain't it ironic, really ?) or to Syria. Au contraire, Israel was a major client until 1968 of French militray hardware - like the Mirage fighter jets they used so well in 1967. Arab forces were almost exclusively equipped by the Soviet Union, courtesy of the Eastern Bloc countries doing some subcontracting.
1. Who would attempt to kill a state governor when he is benefitting from the additional security afforded by the secret service?
2. Why did Oswald pick the shooting angle from the School Book Depository? It put the President BETWEEN him and the Governor as the car made the gradual left turn away from the building.
Exactly right. Israel is building a nuclear "Diad" of Air & Sea Launched nukes. The Sea Launch gives them a retaliatory capabilty against any Muslim country that achieves nukes. Right now those subs are oriented against Iran.
Sorry, little typo here, I meant the 6-Day War and not the 6th-Day War.
