I'm with you....Quit taking potshots at people's weight. It could be their metabolism, like me. And it cheapens any other statement that may be made.

I'm fat. I'm also pretty (or so I'm told), loving, well armed -- both 2nd Amendment-Wise and Intellectually and CONSERVATIVE.

A person who once worked at a Wendy's said they get thrown in with the new meat. Hey, its just leftovers. That was just one Wendy's and it was many many moons ago. I eat their chili and haven't croaked yet. :)

Well I've heard his wife is obese and so is his daughter, so maybe they DO eat there and not just once in a while.

I agree with you. There are enough real serious problems with the Dems, we don't have to be so petty and get so nasty about Elizabeth Edwards' figure.

Actually, the fact that John Edwards has stayed with his wife and the mother of his children is one of the few things I can respect about him. I'm sure he could have traded up to a trophy model or tried to climb the social ladder to richer fields. In this respect, Edwards is far more respectable than Kerry (and a lot of other prominant Democrat "leaders").

I still disagree with his policies, and I would never vote for him. But really, folks, let's leave his wife and family out of this and stop with the petty personal attacks on non-combatants.

No, George takes Laura to Jeffrey's here in Austin. I eat at Wendy's also but not on my anniversary. I can understand if they go as a tradition thing. But the way it was used in today's report was more like "we know that is all you poor people can afford and we do it also". Now that I have heard the history I can see a different view.

Thanks...tragic and heartbreaking. Anything could have caused this, but I think that being 16 must have been a contributing factor in this particular case. 17 should be the legal driving age everywhere, IMHO.

From the looks of Big Blue, she hasn't been a size 10 since she was 10! Who does she think she's fooling?

Anyone know when the first Wendy's appeared in either North or South Carolina? The chain started in the late '60's ( 1968 or 1969 ) in Ohio but I can't find out when it got down south. Not that I'm being cynical.....not that I think they may have made up a "cutsy" story to seem lovable.....

Well, ya'll know the Edwards' are just like you and me.

BTW, has anyone else noticed that Edwards' accent seems to have been kicked up a notch for the convention?

FYI; Everyone had burgers, fries and a shake except Teresa who had chile.

U.S. Democratic presidential nominee John Kerry (news - web sites) (L back) and his wife Teresa (L) take time out from their campaign bus tour to celebrate the 27th wedding anniversary of his running mate John Edwards and his wife Elizabeth, at a Wendys fast food restaurant in Newburgh, New York July 30, 2004. Kerry hit the campaign trail on Friday on a cross-country road trip through battleground states to tell voters 'help is on the way.' REUTERS/Mike Segar

JF'nK had the chili, too. Teresa had chili and what looks like tea, just like the regular folk order at Wendy's. :/

"Well I've heard his wife is obese and so is his daughter,"

Well Mrs. Edwards is overweight but these are only two daughters and neither one of them has a problem.

He's just building a case for a future lawsuit. He'll claim his wife porked up from the Wendy's and he's then he'll sue Wendy's for damages including loss of consortium.
