You go girl... I too would like to know where they are now... why they haven't been deported... and where their next gig is... hopefully not an airplane bathroom assembling a bomb. Washington agencies may have the info but their record of following up on this sort of stuff is abismal.

I'll admit to you guys...............If that were to happen any flight I'm on...............you will hear..............A very loud, blond, American woman screaming "Let's Roll", taken off plane, before it left the terminal. Whereabouts unknown at this time! It is suspected she and her family took another flight!

I think Annie's awesome.
and, of course ONCE AGAIN... the horrible crime of asking for facts or expecteding truth makes one "bigoted and paraniod".

It's my understanding that the visas for 13 of the 14 Syrians were already expired at the time of the flight.

You're right - I guess what I meant to say was that they should have been deported on the spot.

During the reign of the Jamaican Drug Kingpins, known as the Jamaican Posse...they too were musicians...that is how they traveled undetected for years.

Good idea! Yell, scream, obsess, complain, annoy, irritate, irk and become obnoxious ... I believe you're on to something.
COMPLACENCY will be the death of us. The squeaky wheel gets the oil.

I am glad to run into this follow-up on Annie Jacobsen's terrifying flight.
I was discussing it with a friend this morning. We both have come to the conclusion that we are a) bigots...we wonder about anyone from the Middle East and b) paranoid...because we believe these people have attacked before and will attack again.
Call it whatever you want. If you are not wary and suspicious, you have your head in the sand. These people are out to kill us. Some of us are so politically correct we are becoming downright stupid.

In case anyone is interested, there are comments from the Muslim community regarding this incident. You can read them at www.altmuslim.com. For what it's worth.

If THEY are getting on my flight; I am getting off.
Would you really? I'm not attacking, I just wonder myself. I've asked myself the question when the weather has been bad. Should I go or stay? Knowing that I won't get any breaks cut to me by the airline, so I won't get where I'm going and probably be our $100 or more. If it wasn't important I wouldn't be going. So there's a lot of incentive to get on that darn plane and rationalize, awww... it'll probably be ok.

Quite right, of course. We mostly cave to the line of least resistance.
HOWEVER, some of us are "white Knucklers" to start with. Fourteen (!) dark swarthy ME types on one flight does NOT inspire confidence. Two or more gets real itchy.
Like the sign from the 60's used to say: Be LATE Mr. Smith - not the LATE Mr. Smith.Eh?

I don't get it. Why, when the Feds found out they were here illegally with expired visas, did they let them go instead of deporting them? What is going on?
To: johnny7
I added that I didn't consider doing so either diplomatic or fair. Dr. Moustapha told me that I was a paranoid racist.

What I don't get is why acting like those guys did on the plane isn't enough to get you picked up and deported, regardless of your visa status.Because if we did that, we would be guilty of, heaven forbid, racial profiling. Political correctness lives!
To: MeanWestTexan
"I have a suspician: (1) these guys were muscians; (2) they know people were afraid of them; and (3) they decided to have a little "fun" with the Americans by acting REALLY suspicious (e.g., chorigraphed going to the bathroom, leaving McDonald's bag behind in the lavatory); and (4) things spiralled out of control. "
If they had expired visa's,,, they should be keeping a low profile, not acting out to scare others....
