I doubt that you'll find it on the Internet. You'll have to get yourself to a good library and dig through microfilm.
Since your one that worries about the hand that rocks the cradle, I recommend that you find a copy of Conspiranoia.
Funny. I've seen The Manchurian Candidate MANY times on cable. However, another great movie is NOT allowed to be broadcast or come out on video---the ORIGINAL 1984 made in the 1950s starring Edmund O'Brien as Winston Smith. I think Orwell's widow prohibited that movie from being shown after the first run.
I have never seen it. Have seen the 80's version with IIRC, William Hurt and Richard Burton(I believe his last role).
Found the 80's movie boring and not that well done.
Actually it was John Hurt, not William Hurt in the second version of 1984.
The 1956 film of 1984 was indeed on video. See here http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B000192YUE/qid=1091479180/sr=1-2/ref=sr_1_2/104-0950287-1698347?v=glance&s=video for the box cover. Out of print now, but they have one used copy at this minute.
Good catch....the Heinz 57 scene in the original MC...I don't suppose that scene made the cut in the remake; no reason for a remake when Senator Heinz, an evil Republican, was alive. But now Teresa Heinz wants the White House, as a Democrat, and well, Hollywood (or somebody) needs to clear the Heinz name. So simply remake the MC, leave out the Heinz 57 scene...voila--problem solved.
Look to see who benefits--Tina Sinatra (her dad's connections) the Democrats and the Heinz Corp. (a giant international conglomerant BTW)
Jack Valenti...
