ZARQAWI IS ALONG IRAQ-IRAN BORDER
Mideast Newsline ^ | August 2 2004 | NA

BAGHDAD [MENL] -- Abu Mussib Al Zarqawi, regarding as the leading foreign insurgent in Iraq, was believed to be shuttling between Iran and Iraq.

"Much of the time he is in Iran, where he has been given safe haven," an intelligence source said. "The United States won't cross the Iranian border to get him."

The sources said Al Zarqawi was last seen in the Iraqi town of Dour in the area of Baghdad on June 18, where he held a meeting with a senior aide to deposed President Saddam Hussein, Izzat Ibrahim Douri. Douri, regarded as a major financier of the Sunni insurgency, was said to have provided the Al Qaida-aligned insurgent with a large amount of weapons and equipment. From Al Dour, Al Zarqawi traveled to Iran and was said to have been in Marivan in northern Iran through late July.

If we do, we should take him out.

And then threaten to do the same to any Iranian mullah who voices objections.

He's probably on the Iran side of the border. That way he can be sure we won't catch him.

If they can get a solid lead on his vacation, maybe a couple of cruise missiles could accidentally launch from a bomber and go off course and strike some mud hut inside Iran...

Terrible how you just can't place 100% trust in our weapons, huh?

I though Al Douri was in Syria or in Jordan. Hopefully he's back so we can get him too.

You know those border coordinates are always tricky to lock down in that part of the world. Heck it's hard to tell sometimes if you're 50 miles inside Iran or outside Iran...if you get my drift.

Iran isn'T Iraq. We cann't waltz in there like we did with Saddam. They have a bigger and better army--Now they have Nukes too (or will have soon). They have a larger population as well. It would be a nightmare to tackle Iran. We could give it a try but the outcome might not be good the cost in lives would be in the 50,000 mark for us alone. As long as this state supports the terrorists we have lost.

Drop a cruise on top of his safe house in Iran just to send a message. We'll never get confirmation of the body parts, but we will get a reaction from iran.

He should come to Fairbanks. He would be safe here. $25 million is it.

What al-Qaida and the former Iraqi regime are cooperating? It can't be true! (sarcasm off)

Well, we can't allow them to have nukes and support terrorism. That makes the 50k troops deaths a moot point next to 50k+ civilians in Israel, New York or Rome.

Hate to sound so harsh to our men and women in uniform, but its the grim calculus they forced us to.
