And you need a 50 caliber weapon--why? Actually the question is: "And I SHOULDN'T have a 50 caliber weapon -- why?"

It's not up to the government to tell me what calibre of weapon I can own. In fact, they don't even need to know what I own - it's none of their business.

And you need a 50 caliber weapon--why? And somebody needs a Ferrari -- why? Because it's fun to own. Speeding Ferrari owners have killed far more people than .50 owners (since as far as I know, the number of homicides committed with a .50 in the US is zero)

It's not the need that is important. Stopping a precedence is what is important. 50 cals are just like every other rifle except in caliber. Ban the .50 and eventually every other rifle will be banned as well.

Who died and appointed you arbiter of the Declaration of Independence, US Constitution and Bill of Rights, fishface?
The US, state and local governments aren't in any position to determine what we should think, buy and own. But apparently, you and they, think so.
Think again, fishface.

Not a question of need. Not a question of why. It is a question of right.
"I want one" and can pay for it is good enough. What I use it for is none of your business.

The larger calibers have been around since before the Revolutionary War with .50 caliber black powder weapons now available to hunters in most states even at Walmart. Usually a state has separate seasons for black powder, bow and rifle. Using a .50 cal. gives a hunter extra time in the woods. It's also more demanding because you only have one shot unlike one of the smaller caliber semi-auto or bolt action .270, .308, .30-06, etc. or lever action in say .30-30.

You want to know why? I'll tell you why. It's none of your darned business. Go and get your own life.

And you need a 50 caliber weapon--why? Cause he wants one, and the second amendment is part of the Bill of Rights, not the Bill of Needs.
Since he already has one, I guess he doesn't *need* another one, although he might *want* another one.

I believe you are confusing the "need for a .50 caliber" with the "RIGHT to own a .50 caliber.
