In 2002, the spokesman for FBI director Robert Mueller memorably described the American Muslim Council (AMC) as the "the most mainstream Muslim group in the United States." A year later, the Catholic bishops called the AMC "the premier, mainstream Muslim group in Washington."
Its founder and long-time chief, Abdurahman Alamoudi, was a Washington fixture. He had many meetings with both Clintons in the White House and once joined George W. Bush at a prayer service. He arranged a Ramadan fast-breaking dinner for congressional leaders. He six times lectured abroad for the State Department and founded an organization to provide Muslim chaplains for the Department of Defense. One of his former AMC employees, Faisal Gill, serves as policy director at the Department of Homeland Security's intelligence division.
In brief, as the Washington Post describes him, Alamoudi was "a pillar of the local Muslim community."

Why the politicians continue to cuddle up to the religion of murder and terrorism is beyond me.
There is perhaps one and only one pro-American Islamic group in Northern VA, and even that one is dubious (run by Kamal Nawash, an attorney who recently has been after the Saudis about the inflammatory literature being provided to 1st graders in a local VA Islamic school).
Apart from that, there are no truly committed, pro-American Islamic groups in the DC Metro area. To one degree or another, every last one of them (and that includes the mosques) is pro-Islamist and pro-bin Laden.
Kamal Nawash isn't dubious in my mind. A little research will clear up any questions.
Should be a big 'Warning'/'Danger' sign across his posters.
CAIR and the AMC are slick proponents of radical Islam. Don't let their politeness fool you. Under other circumstances they would be perfectly prepared to behead you if they had the power. What they are is front groups on behalf of a totalitarian ideology as inmical to the American Way Of Life as Communism.
Yes, I've heard some of the criticisms. I was just using him as the only Muslim in Northern VA who's even mouthed something sensible.
The rest have been completely silent or (e.g. dar al Hijra mosque) actively complicit with the Islamists.
Why does it seem, that I can 'Google' someone, and find out they're dangerous or not to be trusted, but these other groups or organizations can't?

Republicans are just as guilty as the Democrats in appeasing "American" Mohammedans.
Start with right-wing Icon Grover Norquist, who is actually one of them.
One cannot be "Pro-America" and "pro-Islam" at the same time, as America is a secular state, and Islam calls for Islamic governance.
One cannot be a Mohammedan and not support an Islamic state.

Pipes is asking about what Nawash THINKS (and will Do) when it comes to protection of his state if he associates with "the notorious Hussein Ibish" and "was a long-standing staffer of the extremist ADC".
