38 years is far too much for this kind of offense for one so young.
I'd give her a BCD special and send her back home. No jail time and lost honor is sufficient.

I will never understand our crazy society that insists women are equal to men in strength and toughness and then expect those same women, in the armed forces, to behave like Grace Kelly in "To Catch A Thief."

I don't know exactly why but I feel kind of sorry for her. She is just a poor soul in my opinion. A little country bumpkin caught up in something totally out of her depth. Dishonorable discharge but not jail time.
