Actually, they have about a month to pull this off. If they wait until after the RNC convention, it will be too late, but I think they could do it before then without losing too much ground. There is a lot of ABB (Anybody But Bush) sentiment in the Dim party this year.

It'll be more subtle than that. Look for the prostate cancer to flare back up shortly after Labor Day. But that'll probably move the Ambulance Chasing Son Of A Meeeeel Werker into the #1 slot, with the Beast waiting in the wings. At which point Mrs. Edwards had better make sure his life insurance policies are paid up.

Yup. I was thinking that, too. Anyone want to start a pool to predict the date when Kerry drops out due to "health problems" and Hillary steps in? Despite the polling numbers, everybody on both sides realizes that if this campaign were a prize fight, it would be stopped.
