HUMAN EVENTS has obtained a copy of a scorching new television advertisement addressing Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry's record in Vietnam that has been produced by Swift Boat Veterans for the Truth.
The group is a non-partisan "527" organization whose membership is limited to former military officers and enlisted men who served in Vietnam on Navy Swift Boats or affiliated commands.
The group says, "Senator Kerry misrepresented his own actions and those of his fellow officers and men."
Swift Boat Veterans for Truth is chaired by Rear Admiral Roy Hoffman, USN (ret), and includes on its steering committee John O'Neill, the naval officer who took over John Kerry's Swift Boat in Vietnam and who is the author Unfit for Command: Swift Boat Veterans Speak Out Against John Kerry, an upcoming book from Regnery, a sister company of Human Events.
In Unfit, O'Neill reports that what he learned convinced him -- and the majority of veterans who served directly with Kerry -- that "John Kerry was and is unfit for command as a Naval officer, let alone as commander in chief of the Untied States."

Searching through that web site, you will find 250 men who served on Swift boats, including the entire chain of command above Lt. Kerry, agree with Steven Gardner that Kerry is not fit to be Commander-in-Chief. That compares to the 13 crew members who support his candidacy.

I totally agree. I am going to send a donation to them today. I cannot imagine a better advertisement to having running that shows the true John Kerry.

... But they almost need another ad to allow more time to the doctor who treated Kerry and allow him to tell the details. When the doctor describes (as he has previously) he put a bandaid on it - now that is devastating. As it is - this video is great but each person just gives a summary sound bite and doesn't offer supporting facts. To convince people, you need more than sound bites and bottom line opinions - people want facts.

Sean Hannity aired it on his radio show and will play it on H & C tonight. I heard it. It is even more devastating hearing the calm, adult and serious tone of the voices.

I love to hate John Kerry. But, I have to say, I don't think this ad is effective. The folks talking sound really pissed off. If if they have cause to be, that's not the way to sell people (unfortunately). If anything, it might create sympathy for Kerry and cause a backlash.
