ANTI-KERRY VETS HANG TOUGH Fri Aug 06 2004 13:37:12 ET
The following statement from Swift Boat Veterans for Truth concerns an article appearing in morning edition of the Boston Globe:
"Viet Vet Captain George Elliott describes an article appearing in todays edition of the Boston Globe by Mike Kranish as extremely inaccurate and highly misstating his actual views. He reaffirms his statement in the current advertisement paid for by the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth, Captain Elliott reaffirms his affidavit in support of that advertisement, and he reaffirms his request that he ad be played.
Additional documentation will follow.
The article by Mr. Kranish is particularly surprising given page 102 of Mr. Kranishs own book quoting John Kerry as acknowledging that he killed a single, wounded, fleeing Viet Cong soldier whom he was afraid would turn around.
Swift Boat Veterans for Truth has more than 250 supporters who are revealing first hand, eyewitness accounts of numerous incidents concerning John Kerrys military service record. The organization will continue to discuss much of what John Kerry has reported as fact concerning his four-month tour of duty in Vietnam.

Don't trust the media
C'mon guys, hang tough. It's for your country again. We'll send money, you put on the Warren Zevon music...
The Globe...LIED...?
UNBELIEVABLE!!! Rush is discussing this now...what a soap opera...
Yes. The 250 band of truth members are still going to fight for America. Good men, indeed! These guys are real heroes!
RUSH just read this article on the air.
By chance or careful planning, the rollout for the book "Unfit For Command" on August 15th is looking perfectly timed. The major lamestream media will HAVE to report on this firestorm, and the book will be exhibit one.
Good news that these patriots are hanging in there.
Captain Elliot should read the book written by the same Boston Globe reporters who are interviewing him now.
Especially John Kerry's own words.
From every description-even from Kerry himself-he shot the fleeing kid in the back.
From other eyewitnesses-no one saw the kid take a shot or attempt to take a shot.
Kerry himself says the kid didn't shoot.
"The Complete Biography of John F Kerry, By The Boston Globe Reporters Who Know Him Best:" Michael Kranish, Brian Mooney, Nina Easton
Page 102:
" I'll never be able to explain, we were literally face to face, he with his B-40 rocket and us in our boat, and he didn't pull the trigger .. Kerry said in an interview."
The kid popped his head up when Kerry beached the boat and took off running.
" He was running away with a live B 40 and, I thought, poised to turn around and fire it."
"Asked whether that meant Kerry shot the guerilla in the back,
Kerry said "No, absolutely not."
Shooting a fleeing, naked ,wounded kid in the back, in the fog of war, while your crew is left behind on the boat, is one thing.
But, for Kerry to demand and receive a medal of valor for this-is incomprehensible.
And for Rassmann to now say that Kerry was only covered with a few grains of rice, from Kerry's earlier derring doo,
when he fragged the rice pile-that's not what Rassmann told the Boston Globe reporters previously.
Page 105: ibid.
" Rassmann escaped the ensuing explosion of rice, but, Kerry was not so lucky- thousands of grains of rice stuck to him.
The result was hilarious, and the two men formed a bond."
just heard it on rush ... there goes kerry's weekend
Man, am I glad I cancelled my subscription.
"Will have to report on it.................... Don't count on it. The media can ignore anything they want! Hide and watch!
The Globe tried and failed.
Rush just announced that Mr. Kranish is writing the official Kerry/Edwards book.
Tell me this guy doesn't have an agenda!
Hmm. Isn't THAT special?
I suppose he will also continue as an "impartial reporter" for the Globe?
Someday you Might Call Him President
(sung to the tune of David Allen Coe's - You Never even call me by my name)
It was all that I could do to keep from...servin'
Most times it seemed so useless to remain....
But you don't have to call me hero, hero...
Cuz' someday you might call me President
You don't get to question my...patriotism...
And don't you even ask me where's my pride...
You don't get to see my medical records, anymore...
Even though I left your fightin' side....
And my three purple hearts, my silver and my bronze star...
Submitted from the safety of my tent...
But you don't have to call me hero, hero...
Cuz' someday you might call me President...
You question how I'll handle...the War on Terror...
You wait with baited breath on what I'll say...
And the only way you'll scan...my...economic plan...
Is only if I win on election day....
And my three purple hearts, my silver and my bronze star...
Submitted from the safety of my tent...
But you don't have to call me hero, hero...
Cuz' someday you might call me President...
(spoken)
It seems some veterans got together now and made an ATTACK AD.
And they've challenged my status as a Viet Nam war hero.
So I formed my "band of lawyers" and we threatened to SUE
them for their ATTACK AD and anybody else that dared to broadcast
any part of it. Beacause it might just say too much about rice...,
bandaids..., Jane..., protests..., or the TRUTH!!!
(still spoken)
Well, we sat down and drafted some litigation in response to
said ATTACK AD and upon further review and the interest of
their client....me, John Kerry, distinguished Viet Nam war
hero...It is our conclusion that the best band of lawyers
John Edwards can buy (with a little help from my wife, Tarayzuh),
has determined (without factual proof) that said attack ad
is misleading, libelous, and totally false and have identified
anyone who airs, broadcasts, etc...exercising willful vilication
of plaintiff, me, John Kerry, distinguised Viet Nam war hero, recipient
of three purple hearts, one silver and one bronze star for conspicuos
gallantry in a needless, senseless war while serving in a tested leadership
capacity thus automatically qualifying me for President, regardless of
the opinions of you, the American voter, shall be sued in due course until
all their base are belong to us. Especially the part of said attack ad
that goes like this here...
"Kerry once tossed a grenade, like he threw a football"
In a paddi full of rice, and river-grass
But before he get find decent cover in the reeds and ruts...
He found some rice and some shrapnel blown right up his aaaaa---aa--aaasss!!!
And now his(?) three purple hearts, his silver and his bronze star...
Once rested on the inside of the White House fence...
And now he insists that you call him hero, herOOOOO!!!!
You know you better call him...he'll sue you if you don't call him...
And then someday you might call him PRESIDEEENNNTTTTT!!!!...
I think the entire media except for Fred Barnes and Sean Hannity have treated the Swift Vets quite shabbily.
These men served and have their OWN story about what happened to tell. Both Fred and Sean said that reporters should really "investigate" what happened.
I was so mad at the ugly Susan woman on with Hannity, that I wish I could have reached into the TV and strangled her.
She made such a big deal about them not being on the SAME boat with Kerry. One was, who got fired the day after he critized Kerry by the way!
4 are not getting involved, probably after hearing what happened to Gardner.
250 to 2 Kerry supporters) makes me wonder what really happened. I'd like to see the Kerry supporters investigated myself.
People Swift Boat Veterans for Truth looks to be the big wildcard in this election and to be honest I think the Bush camp is pulling there hair out over this far more that anyone in the Kerry camp because this was not part of the Bush team gameplan it's a big unpredictable variable
