What exactly are these household jobs that are not being counted? Are they self-employed or what.
I heard this addressed yesterday, and they seemed to be indicating that these were farm jobs. Perhaps someone can clarify that further.
evidently there was an old method of counting new jobs for 50 years, and now with the internet, flex time etc, jobs don't get generated the old way, but they are still new jobs, entrapenures, self employed, etc.....
These are in the household as well.
The country, for reasons I will not go into now, is shedding inefficient MFG jobs in favor of more profitable areas of need.
The framitz makers will either find productivity in the USA or move, close or diversify.
These changes are not flukes or fads and are responsible for solid increases in GDP and many new jobs. Good paying jobs.
These changes indicate an end to the industrial age and the maturation of the newer information age. The entities responsible for reporting these jobs put them in the household survey and will continue to do so.
It must be counted and applauded for gains over 600 thousand last month alone.
My understanding is that they are jobs either with small companies or from self-started businesses.
With the Household Surven, the Bureau of Labor Dept. actually calls selected homes and interviews the people to see if people are employed or unemployed. It is much more accurate than the Payroll survey, which federal officials admit is based on an estimation.
Furthermore, I remember reading that a new job will not register under the Payroll category if it is obtained at a country with fewer than 100 employees.
Not sure if that "100" number is correct, but even if the number is "under 10 employees," the way we calculate and report employment data is seriously flawed and should be changed.
