You are correct that the State Department does nothave the authority to allow international monitors into our elections.

The duty of the citizens is to see that their elections are fair, as poll watcher and election monitors. We now have a duty to stop the State Department from overstepping its Constitutional authority. We cannot let them get utterly disregard their Constitutional duties to satisfy the internationalists. The internationalists lust to make our elections meaningless. They have tried very hard over the years to convice citizens not to vote, that the elections are too dirty and they have no meaning. This is just another means to attack our sovereignty, and the State Department must be held accountable to the American People, not the internationalists.

Does not matter how they act when they are here.
If States decide they don't want them.....they should not be allowed. The States have authority of how elections are set in their State.
Article 2 Section 1 [2] seems to be an indicator of that.

Unbelievable, it's like Colin Powell admits he has his position because of a stolen election, and let the EURO PEONS monitor our elections to make sure it doesn't happen again.

Bush will probably endorse this for PR

Those powers not given to the Fed side are reserved for the State side.

You make a very good point .. so why is the State Department doing this?

Exactly, hedgetrimmer.

I saw that they claim the US signed onto this 10 years ago.
Wasn't Clinton in office in 2004? Who had control of Congress (which party for each house)?

I don't see how they had the authority to sign onto that. It is the states that seem to have the authority of how their electorates are chosen.

Bush should have never let this happen. This WILL hurt him.
Powell's sorry can needs to be kicked out NOW!
BUSH SHOULD ISSUE AN EXECUTIVE ORDER TO ASSURE THAT THEY CAN'T IMPOSE ON OUR ELECTIONS.

THESE FOREIGN GROUPS HAVE ALREADY TRIED TO PUSH STUFF THROUGH THE WORLD COURT TO VIOLATE OUR 2ND AMENDMENT RIGHT.

I am calling the Gov's office here in Texas on Monday.
I am going to insist that he deny them any chanse to observe in the Lone Star State.

And these commie Eurotrash a--gnomes better not show up at any precincts near me. I have no choice but to view them as a threat to my guaranteed right to have my State set how the electorial chosers are picked. They come from countries that have shown contempt for my nation. I cannot trust that they will not lie and try to have our fair elections overthrown. I have no compunction with telling them to their faces that their sorry socialist butts are not welcome.

Thanks for the information.

I'm always suspicious when democrats appear to be getting what they want -- it usually does the Republic no good whatsoever.

They were here in 2002. We won huge and fraud was down. They were here for the CA recall: we won that one and it wasn't close and no complaints of fraud that I recall (not being in CA).

Thank you for your post .. it has helped calm me down a bit ..

I'm all for cleaning up the voter fraud .. but I still don't like the idea of this

I went to the OSCE web page and found this information. Apparently we can volunteer to be observers. That ought to give the dems the fits.
How to become an election observer

The ODIHR does not recruit observers directly. Observers generally are seconded to the ODIHR by the OSCE participating states.

When a decision is made to observe an election the ODIHR requests long and short term observers by notifying the delegations of OSCE participating States in Vienna.

The procedure for recruiting observers varies from country to country, but the process is generally co-ordinated by the respective foreign ministries. As a rule it is the sending States that cover the costs of the observers.

For information on national procedures for recruiting observers please contact the relevant permanent delegation to the OSCE in Vienna.

Please do not contact the ODIHR directly.

Found here.

I need to read this a little more closely when I'm awake. Perhaps we could arrange to be "employed" by the sending States in order to save that State transportation costs. Why bother to send in observers when you can get local hires for free.

Observers from Cuba, Iran, and North Korea no doubt. I am sure they will join the democrat party army of lawyers in fighting any Bush victory.

"We now have a duty to stop the State Department from overstepping its Constitutional authority."

If anyone reading this thread has the power to possibly stop the State Department, please go to action immediately.

I have no power to influence the State Department myself. Maybe my Senator, Bill Frist, might read an email I send him--maybe. Otherwise I am pretty much helpless.

But there are people in high places who read FR. Please somehow stop this from happening. We do not need anyone from another country monitoring our elections, I don't care how nice some posters try to make this sound--this is another step in giving away U.S. authority to foreign "groups."

Can this be stopped??

Just more nonsense from the traitor party. They imagined Gore won in Florida and drug us all through hell to prove it. Now, they will do whatever it takes to get power.

You have the right to petition the government. That is how the citizen's voice is heard.

You can ask to testify at any hearings, you can meet with your legislator. You can fax the state department, members of congress and the white house.

Never say you have no power, you only have no power because you choose not to use it.

In the united states the citizen is sovereign, the government is to serve the citizen.

If this election monitoring comes about it is because the government is no longer serving its sovereign masters,American citizens, but is now loyal to non-American, non-citizen internationalists.

This action is an affront to our Constitution and the deepest insult ever perpetrated on the American people by their so-called representatives. Colin Powell should be removed from his office. The administration must not be allowed to defy the American people. Members of the administration without loyalty to the Constitution and the American people should be expelled from their positions in our government.

They are doing it to defy the American people and our Constitutional government. There is no other reason.

Your election office should have rules posted about who can be an election officer, and who can watch the polls. In almost every case anyone working in the polls or poll watching must be a registered voter and citizen.

The county sheriff has the right and duty to keep federal agents out of local affairs if the federal government has no jurisdiction, and it is clear the federal government and the state department have no jurisdiction over county elections.

If they are not citizens and registered to vote they cannot be allowed to be involved in the election process. That is a sure way to corrupt the election, and they can pose an undue influence over its outcome by their presence.
