KING: Where were you on 9/11?....

KERRY: I was in the Capitol. We'd just had a meeting -- we'd just come into a leadership meeting in Tom Daschle's office, looking out at the Capitol. And as I came in, Barbara Boxer and Harry Reid were standing there, and we watched the second plane come in to the building. And we shortly thereafter sat down at the table and then we just realized nobody could think, and then boom, right behind us, we saw the cloud of explosion at the Pentagon. And then word came from the White House, they were evacuating, and we were to evacuate, and so we immediately began the evacuation.

What a hypocrite Kerry is. He criticizes Bush for reading to the schoolchildren for about 7 minutes after learning of the attack on the World Trade Center and yet Kerry sits PARALYZED ("And we shortly thereafter sat down at the table and then we just realized nobody could think, and then boom, right behind us, we saw the cloud of explosion at the Pentagon.") for at least half an hour not knowing what to do until someone from outside told him to evacuate. His OWN WORDS condemn Kerry---He sat at a table and couldn't think for all that time. And he has the GALL to criticize Bush. HA!

p.s. Could someone come up with a more accurate estimate of the time that Kerry sat paralyzed at that table? I figure at least half an hour but it could be longer.

I've seen a thread in the last few days that Kerry sat there for 40 minutes; the thread had a timeline of some sort.

Wonder if Fat Boy Moore will make a movie of that scene?

I think it was this thread, PJ. I'd scroll through it to be sure but I have to run and get ready to meet my dad at the hospital for cataract surgery.

Mia T beat me to the punch on this one. Anyway, here is her estimate of the time Kerry sat FROZEN at a table on 9-11:

The second plane hit the WTC at 9:03 AM and the plane crashed into the Pentagon at 9:43 AM. For a period of 40 minutes Mr. Kerry did nothing because "nobody could think".

Hey Kerry! If you were so paralyzed with shock on 9-11 that you couldn't THINK for at least 40 minutes, then WHY do you want to lead this nation?

Kerry, NOT Bush, paralyzed by 9/11 attacks
Hear Kerry admit he could not think
WHY JOHN KERRY IS DANGEROUS FOR AMERICA

ATLANTA - Thursday Senator John Kerry criticized President Bush for his immediate reaction to the 9/11 attacks on America soon after Michael Moore's use of the footage in Fahrenheit 911. Addressing minority journalists in DC, Mr. Kerry said he would have moved into action much faster than the President on that morning.

Kerry said, "Had I been reading to children and had my top aide whispered in my ear, 'America is under attack,' I would have told those kids very politely and nicely that the president of the United States had something that he needed to attend to -- and I would have attended to it."

In the same interview with Larry King on July 8th where Kerry claimed "I haven't had time" to be briefed on new security threats, he told King what he did that horrible morning....

KING: Where were you on 9/11?

KERRY: I was in the Capitol. We'd just had a meeting -- we'd just come into a leadership meeting in Tom Daschle's office, looking out at the Capitol. And as I came in, Barbara Boxer and Harry Reid were standing there, and we watched the second plane come in to the building. And we shortly thereafter sat down at the table and then we just realized nobody could think, and then boom, right behind us, we saw the cloud of explosion at the Pentagon. And then word came from the White House, they were evacuating, and we were to evacuate, and so we immediately began the evacuation.

HEINZ KERRY: You walked out with John McCain, didn't you?

KERRY: Yes.

KING: You and what?

HEINZ KERRY: He and John walked out together.

KING: He and John McCain walked out..
..

The second plane hit the WTC at 9:03 AM and the plane crashed into the Pentagon at 9:43 AM. For a period of 40 minutes Mr. Kerry did nothing because "nobody could think".

Conversely, the President did think. It took the President seven minutes to vault into action while his staff was preparing his departure. Those were seven minutes the Secret Service had to secure an alternate route for the Presidential motorcade and Air Force One, seven minutes to make the executive decision to ground all aircraft, and seven minutes to make the decision to issue orders to shoot down any aircraft that failed to comply.

Kerry's immediate response was not to check on his family, not to check on any of his Boston constituency where some attack planes originated, not to inquire if the attack was continuing, and for at least 40 minutes he didn't call any federal agency to see where he could be of help. In fact, he waited for 40 minutes to be told what to do.

Since he is not the President, Kerry would know nothing of what emergency protocols were in place for that day. The President did indeed "attend to it" after the proper protocols had been initiated. He simply did not alarm the children and teachers at that the moment he was informed.

Bush 7 - Kerry 40

ot even the scene conjured up on Larry King Live by the little missus, Kerry's (purportedly) calm exit from the Capitol with the manly John McCain, can erase the image of John Kerry's limp-wristed ineffectualness on the morning of 9/11, an image presented on national TV by none other than the limp-wristed, ineffectual Kerry, himself.

Even so, missus heinz kerry's maneuver was far more effective than the silly tack taken Moore or less by hubby, viz., projecting his 9/11 limp-wristed ineffectualness onto the president, a man known far and wide as anything but....

KERRY PARALYSIS

On the morning of 9/11, the president initiated critical action immediately after the first attack, while John Kerry sat like lump for almost an hour, paralyzed, unable to think or act, watching helplessly as two planes plowed into the WTC and one plowed into the Pentagon.

Paralysis in the face of major attack calls into question Kerry's famous "gut"... and his "guts," as well.

How is kerry unfit for office? Let me count the ways....

This is a really tiresome and pointless attack. Kerry's attack of Bush's behavior is at least plausible (though I don't agree with it.) Bush is the commander in chief. He's the head of government. The entire executive branch and the military report to him. Kerry's a US Senator, 1 of 100 members of the "World's Greatest Deliberative Body", with no governing responsibilities whatsoever in a situation like that. To claim Kerry's a hypocrite because he was sitting with other Senators during that 40 minutes is just utterly nonsensical.

Even if Bush had run screaming from the room, WHAT COULD HE HAVE DONE? This whole argument is idiotic. Of course since it comes from Fat Ass Moore and John F'IN Kerry I am not surprised.

40 min of kerry paralysis is someone else's estimate. (see attribution in original thread.)

It is my calculation that kerry was paralyzed NO LESS THAN 58 minutes, i.e., from the first attack at 8:45 to the Pentagon attack at 9:43.

Doubtless, he was still paralyzed when he was evacuated after the Pentagon hit, McCain's presence notwithstanding.

Indeed, regarding the war on terror, kerry still seems paralyzed, wouldn't you say?
