Did anyone see this ?? when I did a search here, there were no listings for any of the key words/ Title. Was this a Friday Afternoon news report to get buried over the weekend? Mentions "FreeRepublic.com, a far-right website." ....
at the YAHOO news page ( linked ) there is only ONE comment ( usually 100 after the first hour on news stories )

Media Matters is nothing but a Michael Moron type website. They take bits and pieces of what conservatives say and alter them in order to fit their warped sense of reality. Rush always enjoys making fun of the dolts.

Typical hatchet job. Glad you posted it though so we can give our FR brother a heads-up.
Mr. Corsi, if you are in fact the nick stated in the article you are my hero. Keep up the good work and keep dodging the bullets.

Corsi's stock just went up in my estimation. "Unfit for Command" is going to be a bestseller.

It's a press release -- not a news report.

How would these yahoos know the identity of any poster on FR?

Media Matters for America is the first organization to systematically monitor the media for conservative misinformation
Funny, I didn't see any conservative misinformation in those posts.

You name was registered on FR on July 15, 2004. You should at least inform us whether of not you are a supporter of that left-wing extremist, George Soros-funded, habitually lying group called "Media Matters".

I've often disliked the overall tone of comments similar to these. Hostile comments towards members of various racial groups are not really the kinds of things I'd like to see.
This all being said, it's very important to note that not one word of this invalidates the material presented in his book. From reading the sample chapter, it looks like it was meticulously researched and exceptionally well presented.
This is no Michael Moore-style hatchet job. It was written very carefully, with quotes from multiple sources behind each charge. For instance, when the first Purple Heart is discussed, the medic is quoted as well as members of the "band of brothers" who saw the wound.
I suspect Corsi just wanted to let off a little steam over here, and I don't think that in any way discredits the book or the accusations made by it. They have to stand and fall under their own merit, which in my view is considerable.
Thank you, Mr Corsi, for producing what looks like a first-rate book that does not engage in name-calling, insults or any of the typical devices of Michael Moore's friends. You may use those devices here, however unfortunate that may be at times, but your book's first-rate.
Hope that helps.

Aside from a few unflattering names for a few ethnic groups, I don't see the problem.

-- "Clinton was more interested in gays in the military than going after OBL. Clinton had Janet Rhino pushing the FBI (news - web sites) to deport a child to Castro's nondemocratic Cuba, not searching out OBL sleepers in the USA. Clinton was too busy getting BJs in the Oval Office to do more than Wag the Dog after the Cole was hit." And the problem with this quote is what?

I wish these damned leftist liberal pukes would make up their freaking mind....
When one of their @$$holes makes a statement, they want us to hear the message without shooting the messenger..
When one of our messengers makes a statement, they want to shoot the messenger and ignor the message.....ESPECIALLY if the message is contrary to their view of "diversity of opinion"....
These Swift Boat Officers have hit a nerve, and severed a major artery.... Kerry will bleed to death if some cowardly "Media Darlings" would cover the story.....

the smear campaign has begun - as stated on www.crushkerry.com. You can read there - that Kerry and his goons developed that 'brown book', to accuse the Vets once again - of crimes. it's a MUST read!

Even if all this is true, it is merely an ad hominem attack and does not address any of the substantive issues raised by "Unfit to Command". It is a clear sign of desparation on their part.

"Media Matters for America is a Web-based, not-for-profit, progressive research and information center dedicated to comprehensively monitoring, analyzing, and correcting conservative misinformation in the U.S. media. Media Matters for America is the first organization to systematically monitor the media for conservative misinformation -- every day, in real time -- in 2004 and beyond. For more information, log on to http://www.mediamatters.org"This is definitely a good find......but now I feel kinda icky all over to think some pointy headed liberal is holed-up somewhere scrutinizing, "in real time" all of the fun we have here on FR - maybe we shouldn't let them know how whacky it gets after 2 A. M.!!! ;^)
