Father, I pray that this election would turn on issues of truth. I pray that those who rely upon lies, spin, and deceit will find that those tools of their political trade have lost their effectiveness. I pray that this election will be a turning point for this nation in terms of our political environment, that from this election forward, politicians would be afraid of basing their campaigns on falsehood. I pray that You will grant the vast majority of voters in this nation the ability to distinguish truth from lies, and that they would overwhelmingly reject deceit.
May truth, decency, character, and courage decide the campaigns that are now under way.
