Parking will be a nightmare. Just a suggestion.As I understand it, parking in the Santa Monica Business Park lot is $1.10 per 20 minutes...There's a huge public parking lot down Ocean Park in the business park.
...i.e., $3.30 per hour...with a maximum per day of $11.
You are correct; we would prefer not to antagonize the local residents.Still, with large numbers from BOTH sides attending, I would imagine that MOST homeowners would prefer to have clean-cut, all-American BUSH supporters parking in their neighborhood than the alternative. :o)
I told the Santa Monica Police Department officer in charge for this event that I planned to be there at NOON - just in case.He said that HE plans to get there at 2 pm. :o)
The "bad guys" rally is scheduled to start at 4 pm.
How much of a walk is it?If you park in the "high-priced" lot at the Santa Monica Business Park, you can park VERY close to the rally.

I wonder if he really stopped there or if

The thermometer read 114 degrees when John Kerry left his air-conditioned campaign bus to gaze up at an electronic sign that locals call the world's tallest thermometer.
"It's a lot cooler than it was in Las Vegas," Kerry said. Temperatures hit 122 degrees on Tuesday as the Democratic presidential nominee campaigned in the city of wedding chapels and casinos.
About 50 people, including a dozen or so Bush supporters, waited in the withering heat for Kerry's coast-to-coast tour to roll into town. Situated on the edge of the Mojave National Preserve, Baker calls itself the Gateway to Death Valley.
Supporters were rewarded for their wait with handshakes and autographs before Kerry headed into the Original Bun Boy Restaurant to cool off with a coffee shake, served with a small blue umbrella.
"It's an amazing way to see America," Kerry said before he headed back out into the heat to the tune of Willie Nelson's "On the Road Again," playing from his campaign bus.

The campaign traveled 3,880 miles in 11 days, starting in Boston, to get to Las Vegas.
"I hope I get frequent flier bus miles," Kerry told a group of seniors in Henderson, Nev. "Frequent flyer train miles."
With so much nonstop travel, it's no wonder the candidate and his wife started to get a little confused about where they were.
"Hello, Nevada!" Teresa Heinz Kerry said to a crowd at the railroad station in Williams, a town she quickly realized was actually in Arizona. "Arizona!" she said. "We are in Arizona and we're going to Nevada."

...Bush will arrive this afternoon at Los Angeles International Airport where he will meet with a Redondo Beach senior citizen volunteer in an effort to promote USA Freedom Corps. Bush launched the volunteer council in the wake of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.The volunteer, Lynn Brennan, produces and hosts the Southern California cable television show "Senior Living" and also works to stop elder abuse and financial exploitation.
Next, Bush will head to Santa Monica Airport where he will appear with Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger and headline a fund-raiser to benefit the Republican National Committee...

Schwarzenegger May Hit the Bush Campaign Trail

SACRAMENTO — With his prime-time Republican National Convention speech fast approaching, Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger said he could reverse course and campaign out of state for President Bush.
Schwarzenegger previously had indicated he would not leave California to campaign, citing the demands of governing. But in an interview he said that he was prepared to make some appearances, though he had no specific plans.
"If there's a place, one place where they want to pop me in, this makes sense for me," he said.
The governor is to introduce First Lady Laura Bush today at a Republican Party fundraiser in a hangar at the Santa Monica Airport. President Bush is also scheduled to attend...CLICK HERE for the rest of that thread
Does anyone know, will there be a chance to greet the president inside either LAX or Santa Monica airport when his plane arrives, or is the public being kept out on the streets?
Perhaps NEXT time......if we show Karl Rove TODAY that there is enough grass roots support for a MAJOR EVENT here in Los Angeles in the FUTURE.
