I posted during the Dem convention--forget what thread--that Obama's father was an African Muslim.
He obviously comes from a wealthy African family. His portrayal of his father as a goatherd was disingenuous to say the least. Yes, he could have actually helped to heard goats, in the context of being a wealthy landowner's son. However, portraying him as a goatherd suggests a far more lowly and humble origin.
I don't know this writer/reporter, but I think it is interesting and probably true. That Obama has lied is obvious without this post/story because his actions and voting record as posted and written about earlier do not fit.

Obama has spent a lifetime running from his family heritage and religious heritage. Would his father have given his son a Koranic name if the father was not a devout Muslim? Obama's stepfather was also a Muslim. Obama will be the first Muslim-heritage senator; he should be proud of that fact. There is nothing to be ashamed of in any of the three great Abrahamic religions.

This bothers me, still. I wonder what influence Obama's family might have on him, especially considering that if elected he would have access to our nation's deepest security secrets.
