LOL. The top three K-E-DNC contributors in my zip were two lawyers and a wife of one. The B-C-RNC contributors are doctors and local businessmen.
BTW, check out the MAP link on this web site. Bush is winning Ohio!
Very interesting. But I was disappointed to not see my name on the list. I have given a few $20 contributions to Bush-Cheney, and some to other candidates or the RNC. I was hoping to see my name listed in case my lefty neighbors want to scorn me! LOL.
In my zip code, a dishwasher donated the "maximum" to Bush. I wouldn't want to have to 'splain that...
I find it more difficult to donate to the party with every fund raising plea I recieve. I try to target specific candidates that I agree with. Ohio is full of republicans that make Kerry look like a member of the John Birch Society.
Bump!
This is the hard part, and why local research is helpful. This is likely how they've evaded discovery for so long--the fact that the connections don't "click" on the donor lists until you know who employs whom. One possibility is going for the zip codes, then scan for "legal assistant" or "paralegal" or "legal secretary" --
I'm not a bit surprised to see that my (lawyer) brother-in-law has contributed to Edwards. In 2000, he donated to Nader, but he won't do that again - unfortunately.
VERY interesting site. Thanks.
I know who my neighbors support, thanks. At Halloween they thought it was an amusing and tasteful yard decoration to put a severed head of George W. Bush on a pike with a knife stuck through his eye and blood streaming out.
I checked my zip code (22204).
I discovered that Mr. and Mrs. Robert Rosenthal (the owners of Bob Rosenthal's auto dealerships in Northern Virginia) have contributed $40,000 to the RNC and $4,000 to George W. Bush).
I am thinking about getting a new vehicle.
Suddenly, Rosenthal looks like a dealership I might want to check out.
Many of the 'tossup' states have significant Republican majorities in money contribution. NV, PA, MI, NM stood out to me.
Maybe I'm reading too much into this, but I don't think that the election is going to be as close as the media says it is.
Very cool - thanks for the ping...

LOL! Terrific. I've found a few people I want to do business with, too. And a few doors I'll never walk through again. I've found out some dismaying things about "family"--and some wonderful things about "friends."
Fun, isn't it?
There's "newsmeat.com" , too, y'know. Cross-check some of your "targets." The two sites work a bit differently-- newsmeat will tell you more about congressional and senate and local elections and smaller donors.
In my conservative and small zip code, there is one Kerry donor (the only one) who gave an obviously fake PO Box number.
Any suggestions for addressing this?
My doctor neighbors gave to Bush and some computer folks, too. Strangely enough the attorneys gave to Edwards, LOL!
Good to know that my cardiologist donated to President Bush.
From the Fundrace website:
"Lastly, our summaries of the FEC databases are NOT perfect.
They are a total mess and we have done our best."
