Understand that Brinkley might be innocent. He says that he's relying on Kerry's "journals".
If Brinkley has any professional integrity at all, he's got to be weeping and gnashing his teeth about now. He whored himself out for what he probably thought would be a routine sort of campaign puff biography, no work of scholarship, but it would pay some bills and get some facetime on the TV shows...now he's stuck in a--yes--a quagmire!
He is responsible for what he writes, and his credibility is in the balance just as much as Kerry's.
