Rassmann wouldn't have been able to see anything. He was too busy trying to stay alive by diving to the bottom of the river so the propellers wouldn't get him.

Which means he was drowning and would have died if Kerry didn't pull him out of the water?? Does not sound like a life was saved to me, if he could dive to the bottom.

Good evening, all.
Rassmann wouldn't have been able to see anything in the river because the water was so muddy. Those guys weren't called the "Brown Water Navy" for nothing. Also, being blown off the boat when the mine detonated would have disoriented him big time. Big booms do that.
I think the only thing Rassmann knows for sure is that john kerry was the one who helped him get out of the water. I believe he is starting to regret ever speaking up.
