After Crossfire and Hardball Tonight, is There Any Question Remaining? The Media is the Real Enemy.
The Media is the Real Enemy ^ | 8-12-04 | Bob J

Posted on 08/12/2004 9:40:42 PM PDT by Bob J

On the 5th I posted an article title The Media is the Real Enemy - Watch Media Reaction to the Swift Boat Vets Story and be Convinced!. After observing what has happened since and in particular the performance typified by Crossfire and Hardball tonight, is there any question remaining that our primary activism objective needs to be defeating the media hegemony that nourishes the beast?

I've been involved in FReeper activism beginning way back with the March for Justice in '98. I now believe my energies have been nothing but shadow boxing. Every single action that we have undertaken against groups or individuals can trace their existence to an adoring dim media that creates them, props them up and then protects them from damage through propaganda, misdirection and lies.

I think it's time we redirect our efforts to the source that creates, sustains and drives liberalism.

Comments and suggestions?

The U.S. media is no different than the terrorists that affected the Spanish election. No surprise to me, that both are socialist.

THANKS FOR     THE PING!

Peter Newman, CPA Kansas City said in a radio interview that THE FLAT TAX IS DEAD.

A national consumption tax would cost the average American 23% on every purchase (except food?).

A serious effort to abolish the IRS & institute a Fair Tax Act, would get my vote.

Yep that's what the bean counters say the Fair Tax would take to equal present gov tax levels.

But just think, -- no more withholding or self employment taxes of any kind.
- But ~all~ new products, even food, would be taxed, - once, - at the retail level.. -- No exceptions.

Interesting plan that could solve a lot of problems, imo.

Not that the Republican party is much better...

A political party is a good as what people make it.

All this blame on parties, when simply, the parties are made up of people who are the electorate.

"At least I'll be able to say I did something".

If you don't say it Tonk, others will! Your efforts on FR are exemplary; Thank you "and never forget"!

Close enough...
1. Balance the Media
2. De fund the Left
3. Ideological Parity in Education

Good post. My favorite Freeper moment was, "Get out of Cheney's house!" Don't let the jerks get you down. We don't want to convince them, we want to defeat them. All 60 Minutes is is Al Quada with Botox and wigs instead of turbans and beards.

"FAIR is a leftwing org."

My bad, didn't know that. Just looking around the net. That's what I get for not researching further.

1. Balance the Media
2. De fund the Left
3. Ideological Parity in Education

Number 2 is an impossibility. There is NO grassroots, political orgs, or media that can "defund" the left. That is a given, the same as some conservative orgs and ideals will never stop funding our cause.

It's about changing the idealism in the journalism schools and the liberal teaching to our young. The socialists will always have their money, and there's nothing we can do about it.

So what do you say to my suggestion of taking the media or education institutions one at a time? I believe, therein, lies our solution.

I agree with you totally Bob J. I would love to hear your suggestions as to how we can overcome the leftist media who if they are allowed to, will elect John Kerry President and then God help us all! We all are aware of the problem, but is seems nearly impossible to stop them.

Good post Tonk. The media also set this Florida sham up in advance by telling us that when they announce who won Florida, we would know who the President would be. This was all planned in advance, and no doubt they will be even more determined this time.

Disagree. Don't start thinking outside the box, start asking "what box?".

"It's about changing the idealism in the journalism schools and the liberal teaching to our young. The socialists will always have their money, and there's nothing we can do about it."

Agreed. Disagree. Over 60% of liberal funding comes from the government and corporations. That can always be a target.

"So what do you say to my suggestion of taking the media or education institutions one at a time? I believe, therein, lies our solution."

That is what I've been saying all along. Maybe not on this thread, but for many years.

The majority of the media has an achilles heel they cannot control...funding. Whether it comes from customers, advertisers or supporters, it can at least be affected if not cut off.

There in lies an opportunity.

BTW - It always seems impossible when one looks at it as a whole. Break it down into its component parts and attack the weak spots.

I think more people use the internet than watch TV news. We need to spread the word on the internet. I "belong" to about 25 "groups", most which are in battleground stations. I post near non-stop on them and will do so until Nov 2. No trace is ever to FR. I had a long discussion with Jim Robinson, in person, yesterday when he was here. At least I'll be able to say I did something.

You know Tonk, it's because of guys like YOU, we will win. I want to thank you for your tireless efforts on behalf of our GI's serving ALL OVER THE WORLD! If you apply the same enerrgy toward exposing Kerry as you have in support of GI's since 9/11, the mission will be accomplished!

YOU are a real American PATRIOT!

Thanks you for all you do.

Anv: Number 2 is an impossibility. There is NO grassroots, political orgs, or media that can "defund" the left...can you stop Babs from donating?. This is a given, the same as some conservative orgs and grassroots orgs will never stop funding their cause.

Bob J: Disagree. Don't start thinking outside the box, start asking the box?".

ANV: Please, give me the new "box" paradigm. I only see wealthy participants funding their pet causes. Am I wrong? It's about changing the idealism in the journalism schools and the liberal education that affects the dumbed-down realities of our populace. The socialists will always have their money, and there's nothing we can do about it...inside or outside the "box".

Bob J: Agreed. Disagree. Over 60% of liberal funding comes from the government and corporations. That can always be a target.

ANV: Would like to see some citations of that one. I don't believe it's that much. However, 1% is too much.

ANV: So what do you say to my suggestion of taking the media or education institutions one at a time?

Bob J: That is what I've been saying all along. Maybe not on this thread, but for many years.

ANV: Then what are your specific suggestions? I say work with existing entitites, from a "grassroots" position and target one institution at a time, IMHO.
