After Crossfire and Hardball Tonight, is There Any Question Remaining? The Media is the Real Enemy.
The Media is the Real Enemy ^ | 8-12-04 | Bob J

Posted on 08/12/2004 9:40:42 PM PDT by Bob J

On the 5th I posted an article title The Media is the Real Enemy - Watch Media Reaction to the Swift Boat Vets Story and be Convinced!. After observing what has happened since and in particular the performance typified by Crossfire and Hardball tonight, is there any question remaining that our primary activism objective needs to be defeating the media hegemony that nourishes the beast?

I've been involved in FReeper activism beginning way back with the March for Justice in '98. I now believe my energies have been nothing but shadow boxing. Every single action that we have undertaken against groups or individuals can trace their existence to an adoring dim media that creates them, props them up and then protects them from damage through propaganda, misdirection and lies.

I think it's time we redirect our efforts to the source that creates, sustains and drives liberalism.

Comments and suggestions?

Actually it was good. Matthews degraded his own credibility. It started when he shot from the hip, and said O'Neill was Texas Republican, when Matthews really had no clue, and turned out to be wrong. O'Neill said he voted for Gore, amazingly enough, as well as that nutter Perot, less amazingly. Neither Matthews nor that other Dem spinning guest, could really offer any specifics to refute O'Neill's specifics about Kerry's proactive fraud to obtain medals he did not deserve, until the Dem spinner quoted the inconstant and unfortunate Elliot fellow, or whatever his name is, who has a new story about every week it seems. Other than that, it was a blowout. These guys do a fine job in impeaching themselves. Plus Matthews is a rude asshole. But then, that is old news, and he not atypical in that department.

The whole thing cheered me up. I want more, much more

I think more people use the internet than watch TV news.

We need to spread the word on the internet.

I "belong" to about 25 "groups", most which are in battleground stations.

I post near non-stop on them and will do so until Nov 2.

No trace is ever to FR.

I had a long discussion with Jim Robinson,
in person, yesterday when he was here.

At least I'll be able to say I did something.

If these guys are liars, why did Kerry use their photos in his campaign ads?

Who pays for his "Band" to travel around the country with him.

Sorry, I do not choose to wait until Fox surpasses ABC, NBC, CBS in listenership.

I must have missed it when the media gave the same treatment to O'Niell, Clarke, Wilson et all on their "exposes".

Of course not. I had a dream, a dream that... never mind.

Aren't there any rich Republicans who can start a newspaper or a TV news channel?? I guess all the wealthy people are Democrats.

too bad.

Got kids? Encourage them to major in journalism or education when they get to college.

What, not quick enough for you? How do you think the left did it?

It goes on and on Tonk. We protest Bill and Hillary and while our attention is diverted the real enemy steals the store.

These lib 'reporters and editorialist' need to be 'outed'. How many are moes or pedophiles? How many are monica-izing behind their spouses backs? How many are one DUI or drug arrest away from a felony? Delinquent child supporters? Etc.

Of course, this is how Hillary works and decent folks may balk at going there, but if it's results you're after........

Or why Kerry is not suing them.

You are correct, the Media is the real enemy. I have known this since I used to tag along with my dad and brothers to the barbershop, so I could sit and read the magazines. I was a fan of Esquire when it still had the "Vargas girls" drawings, but even then I knew "Time" magazine s*cked. And you know, I was just a little kid, probably about 8-10. I was always a psycho reader, I've read more ketchup bottles, cereal boxes and hair spray cans than is good for me.

I THINK the new media is hurting the old media, but the liberals, the leftists, they are in the fight of their lives this go 'round. Their whole world is crumbling. Kerry is their last chance, I think. If (when, please God!) Bush wins, if all they got in '08 is Crusty, well how done are they?

They hate America, they revere abortion, they are all rich f*cks who earn their bread by yada, yada, yada. I have a great cartoon I cut out of the paper years ago, I think it captures that lot perfectly:

Two anchor people are on a TV news show, a man and a woman. One says "Newt Gingrinch today declared War on the Poor" the other replies "Thank God I make $80,000.00 a year!"

That's them. They s*ck. For at least 35 years they have undermined this country, now, they endanger our very lives, but do they care? Nah, they make 80 grand a year!

"It goes on and on Tonk."

It comes with the turf.

Somebody has to hold the line.

The more we have the better chance we stand.

I'll be here "for the duration"

The reason they keep getting away with it is because we are not knocking on their doors demanding a unbiased free press and the fact that cable TV is pure communism, ratings don't matter that much anymore to the bottom line.

I agree 100%.

I believe our media props up those it supports politically. And by media, I mean the big guns in that arena, the alphabet networks, the print media that relys on the NYT reporting, the AP and Reuters and certain pollsters (yep-pollsters)

Bob-no kidding-we need to wage a war of our own because truly, a press that operates under heavy bias, can divide and destroy this precious nation.

"Actually it was good."

Are you saying you were more satisfied with this than an objective investigation into the facts by Matthews?

Conservatives have been trained for decades to accept so little. Sad.

I agree. It's so exciting that the average person can have such an impact now! Very exciting to be a part of this revolution!

Bob if FR is going to do anything it first has to stop debating about whether Bush is conservative enough and start a massive response to every media outlet that is actively campaigning for Kerry. We need to flood WP, NYT,CBS,NBC,CNN and now Fox with the other side. We also have to make sure that all of us get off FR long enough to VOTE and take someone with us to VOTE.

Not a criticism Tonk, you do plenty. I think we need to realign our priorities. We fight shadows and temporary heroes while the mother ship spits out challengers by the thousands.

All of these "debate" shows seem to based on justice system used in totalitarian countries when the guest is not a party line Democrat.

The guest, or accused, has multiple questions fired at him simultaneously, and is given no time to respond. Even in the middle of a response, more questions are asked.

If the accused makes a factual error during his inquisition, he is immediately called a liar. And on it goes.

I don't know how people have the guts to walk into something like this. I can't believe that anyone would do it, unless they were absolutely sure of their position.

I think this type of tv is appalling.
