I am one American who would support your young people in their attempt to be free. I hope that I am not alone.
Excellent, excellent post!
As a conservative and a monarchist I support the restoration of the Imperial House of Iran. Long live the Shah!
I believe the Shah was trying to bring Iran into the 20th century. This, of course, angered a lot of the mullahs, because it would end their dominance over the people.
I have had the pleasure of knowing a number of Iranian-Americans, and can say they are among the better educated individuals I have known. The Shah was sending Iran's best and brightest to this country to be educated. The goal was to educate the future leaders of Iran.
In the midst of havoc and chaos created by the revolutionaries, our so-called allies never came to our aid; instead a member of Carters administration credited the Ayatollah with sainthood. Ten months later Khomeini awarded the Americans by taking their diplomats hostage for 444 days. "
brought to you by the number 444, and the word democrat...
I always found it the height of irony that the liberals in the US wanted the Shah deposed because there were stories about torture and killings by the government in Iran. When the Ayatollah took over, the liberals lost all interest in torture and killings in Iran.
My Iranian grandparents became American citizens a year ago; they voted for Bush by absentee ballot.
I hope more Iranians realize the virtues of voting Republican: Democrats are too impotent to fight against terrorism in the Middle East.
Carter betrayed a man whose fall to the Ayatollah Khomeini on Carters watch spawned the resurgence of fundamentalist Islamist terrorism that is now the War on Terror."
Great Post !
Thanks !

Very wise observation.
The late Shah of Iran was a good man for its own people and the world!
But I believe some couldn't tolerate a modern & independent Iran under his rule and helped some idiots to overthrow him!
Bump and bookmark! Very good.
I never knew about the loans.
