Larsen Jensen and Klete Keller both advanced to the 400m free finals for tonight as the third (3:46.90) and fifth (3:47.77) seeds, respectively. Australians Grant Hackett (3:46.36) and Ian Thorpe (3:46.55) are the top seeds. Thorpe is the world record-holder at 3:40.08, while Keller broke the American record with a 3:44.19 at the U.S. Trials. Thorpe won gold in this in 2000, while Keller was the bronze medalist behind Italys Massi Rosolino, who is the fourth seed tonight.
Brendan Hansen and Mark Gangloff both had great prelim swims to advance to semifinals of the 100m breast tonight. They were second- (1:00.25) and third- (1:00.81) fastest this morning, behind Japans Kosuke Kitajima (1:00.03). Kitajima was the world record-holder at 59.78 from last summers World Championships before Hansen broke that record at the U.S. Trials with a 59.30. Gangloffs time this morning was a personal best, .07 better than his time at the U.S. Trials to make the team.

She went out controlled and looked great. She just didnt have it at the end. Shes 15. Shes only swam long course 400 IM probably less than 20 times.
I told her she hasnt done will in a morning swim before and then has come back six hours later and swam great. Now shes got a day to her next swim. She doesnt need any more motivation. Shes at the Olympics.
