What does "very educated" have to do with it? They are usually the most useful idiots. Liberals believe education is the panacea to an ailing society. Conservatives know better. Myself, I don't have any liberal friends and wouldn't have exactly because of the reason you described. I just can't see wanting to be friends with people who spew such hatred.
Now, I'm not saying I wouldn't be friendly to such people, but they certainly wouldn't be in my intimate circle of friends.

I made the mistake of watching Olberman on MSNBC last night. He claimed that polls showing Bush with a lead are invalid then went on to promote a conspiracy theory that terror alerts are a political ploy.
The roofers and other construction workers will hit the road causing a decline in the skilled workers in other sectors. Building materials will be redirected to Florida, pissing off people in state X who are awaiting their new deck.

I don't know how many people are like me but I don't pay much attention to GDP numbers.. Maybe I should but I just go by, if I've got a job and am able to pay my bills.
