Bush has been a miserable failure on border control, but has done a lot of great things as a president also; so with the border, I will probably always be in a "we agree to disagree mode". Don't worry, we don't have any other choice at the poll but Bush,(barf moment - try to imagine Gore or Kerry, handling a war on terrorism) but it concerns me that they've never done anything till now to try and shore up the porous dike. Wonder if America will become a place where the citizenry will have to quell an up-rising from a group from with in it's borders?

It almost does seem like it's by design. First Clinton pretty much moved the border 80 miles north --- the border is pretty open where the original border was, shopping cards and visitor visas are very readily handed out so pretty much anyone can come over. The original border is very easy to get over --- the most they ask is to see a drivers license but usually they only ask citizenship, whoever says US or American is allowed over. The 80 mile checkpoints would take care of that they claimed. So of course illegals have been piling up inside that 80 mile region all along the border -- now they're telling them to move north and they'll be fine, otherwise they can be deported. And of course those 80 mile checkpoints are only a handful --- extremely easy to get around.
