Or, stated another way, "We wait for the New York Times and Knight Ridder to do our jobs for us. Independent judgement is frowned on here at the Kansas City Star."

Further confirmation of what we already knew: the media in this country is nothing but arrogant left-wing hacks.

"The Star had been waiting for credible sources to move stories over the news wire, which is how most of the news about national politics gets in the paper."

IOW, The Star was waiting for someone else to do its work.
They had the names, they could've assessed the situation themselves, but that's not "how most of the news about national politics gets in the paper", indeed. It gets there by re-printing whatever the WP, NYT or the DNC has put out. The only people buying this rag should be pet- owners.

The Kansas City Star and "wire service sources" have endlessly trumpeted completely bogus story lines with NO credibility: Bush "AWOL," Richard Clarke, Scott Ritter, etc, ad nauseum.

The true history of Kerry has been successfully buried for years. The real Swift Boat heros have been saying this stuff for 30+ years about Kerry.

The Kansas City Star and "wire service sources" can no longer successfully spike this news, thanks to the Internet.

Maybe they could read some of exerpted chapters from the book, like the one Crissy Matthews posted on the MSNBC website - or buy the book "Unfit for Command" - or just get their heads out of the DNC's butt - one of those should work.
