Who says the dad skipped out? Hussein himself? Osama admits his autobiography contains falsehoods.

His mother? I think she passed.

His dad? I think he passed?

His grandparents? I don't think anyone has heard a word from them.

His relatives from Africa? It appears Hussein is content to leave them there in obscure poverty for PR purposes
