The most common chant at a demonstration was "Ho Ho Ho Chi Minh, NLF is gonna win!" VietCong flags were everywhere. The idea was that America is a racist, imperialist, and capitalist power, and the world would be a better place if the communists won. Mao's little red book was very popular.

If so, I agree with you...probably is one of the reasons why he's bought up all the copies and refuses to allow it re-release, just a he refuses to sign the form 180 which would allow release of his military records.
