Joe Bob is cool. He used to write some columns that appeared in National Review.

"I will get a copy of CH as soon as I can arrange it."

Hope you got a decent experience...I hesitate to wish you an "enjoyable" one where this kind of film is concerned.

It is quite funny to be, on the one hand, advocating a movie and on the other advising FReepers to stay away from it. I guess it's that kind of a movie.

I've also seen Deodato's first foray into the savage jungles...The Last Survivor (AKA Jungle Holocaust), and while not nearly as nihlistic and punch-in-the-gut as CH is, it nonetheless is a pretty nasty film. It's a more straightforward adventure movie dealing with a wealthy oil executive whose plane crashes in the jungle, forcing him to survive both the forests AND the native cannibals. His transformation is not only disturbing to watch, but the whole film is genuinely scary as well as horrifying at times. I'd recommend it as a "warm up" to CH's assault.
