If there is a newer thread on this, let me know. I was there at Coco's as were you three when Ted Hayes announced that his daughter would be competing (nothing like a proud Papa!) and that he and his family would be going to Athens!
I watched Joanna in the prelim heat on Sunday and the semi-final yesterday, and she looked great! Our best hope now that Gail Devers is out. I believe NBC will broadcast the final tonight.
I enjoy cheering on our U.S. athletes and particularly our local gal, Joanna. I hope the President makes some statements of pride in our Olympic athletes soon. I haven't heard him say much. Some of the athletes have said they dedicate their medals to our soldiers serving in OIF and OEF.
ANJA NIEDRINGHAUS, AP Joanna Hayes, right, of the U.S. wins the 100 hurdles at the 2004 Olympic Games Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2004 in Athens, Greece. She is hugged by bronze medalist Melissa Morrison, also from the U.S.
Thanks for the HAYES Thread Bump!!
I love that Joanna Hayes
wore the American Flag
for her Victory Lap!!!
