PUBLIC AFFAIRS (It's Only Sex)
New York Post ^ | 8/17/04 | RAY KERRISON

August 17, 2004 -- THE abrupt downfall of New Jersey's Gov. James McGreevey, and all its nasty fallout, dramatically shatters the notion espoused by so many that there is no direct connection between private behavior and public policy. For many years, especially through the eight-year Clinton presidency, secularists and apologists for lecherous politicians attempted to persuade the public that whatever consenting adults "do in the privacy of their bedroom" is their business and should not intrude into the public domain.

Remember their famous kiss-off line, "It's only sex."

McGreevey has now exploded that logic to kingdom come. He conducted an illicit sexual relationship with another man, and then, appointed his lover, a non-American with no experience, to the critical position of homeland security chief.

The implications are staggering. McGreevey literally ransomed the safety and security of 8.4 million New Jersey residents to buy the silence of an alleged shakedown artist with whom he consorted — consensually — in the bedroom. In the age of terrorism, he didn't give a hoot for the welfare of his constituents.

What is undeniable is that McGreevey's conduct in the privacy of the bedroom led to a massive betrayal of the public trust. And he'd still be there, deceiving the public, if his hand had not been forced.

Forced ... from where?

On second thought, no. I'd rather not know.

What I want to know is how it became noble to be a homosexual. People are tempted to do all sorts of things, some healthy and some harmful. Clearly, homosexual conduct is damaging to the individual and society, yet nearly everyone who has criticized the "gay American" has qualified their comments by saying it has nothing to do with homosexuality. What I'm saying is, homosexuality is a destructive behavior. We wouldn't declare a pedophile good simply because he was responding to his natural urges, would we? So how did we change into a society that places homosexuality on a higher level then heterosexuality. As the author of the article says, we still frown on heterosexuals who are adulterers, but a homosexual who has a different partner every night is simply expressing himself. It makes no sense to me, but there is no way we are going to escape judgement as a nation if we continue to embrace evil.

What can you expect from an adulterer, liar, cheater, deceiver, betrayer, self-absorbed, egomaniac? He not only lied to his first wife, he lied to his second wife, his voters, his constituents. It's absolutely pathetic that liberal demonrats can say what goes on at home does not spread to the workplace. It's like saying that an alcoholic is only an alcoholic at home, but can control it if he/she goes outside the home. Duh. Do you see something wrong with this picture? The control is only temporary, and when they think they've gotten away with it once, the cat is out of the bag and what was once under control in public becomes uncontrollable all the time, everywhere. That's why Kerry cannot be trusted with anything he says or does. He's a habitual liar who can't control it any longer. How will leaders of other nations feel when they find out that Kerry, POTUS, is lying to all of them? God help us all.

Everything takes a back seat when it comes to feeding a demonic spirit of lust. That is why most of the time, only a personal relationship with Christ is strong enough to remove the demon(s), and deliver them by the Holy Spirit. Once you let a homosexual demon take up residence in your temple, you become its slave, not its master.

He uses the term "gay American" like it's an ethnic group or race. Yes I'm a Swedish-American", "Native American", "African American", Asian-American,.........Homosexual-American, Lesbian-American, Transexual American, Adulterer-American, Fornicator-American, Rapist-American, Murderer-American, Drug-Addict-American, Non-American, Confused-American. liberals are so sick they try to normalize everything as "alternate lifestyles". But if dare call someone for what he/she is, you are called a bigot, homophobe, insensitive, hate-monger, intolerant. I need a barf bag. Too late. Got a mop?

I agree with you 100%, except that it's not "gay American" it's "queer American".

We've bought the lie. It's a world gone mad - where right is wrong, and wrong is right.

MORE:

It's not the first clear-cut example of how bedroom politics plays out in public life. The political landscape is littered with variations of the McGreevey theme.

President Clinton's dalliance with the intern, Monica Lewinsky, had enormous ramifications on American foreign policy and the safety of the American people he had sworn to defend.

At a time when terrorists were striking American targets and citizens, from the World Trade Center in 1993 to embassies in Africa to the USS Cole in Yemen, when Osama bin Laden's capture was offered by the Sudan, Clinton turned his back.

He was too distracted by the legal and political consequences of his sexual relationship with Lewinsky to confront the enemy abroad — assuming he had the will in the first place.
No one will ever know just how much Clinton's "private consensual behavior" with Monica Lewinsky cost this nation. But no one would dare deny the devastating effect his private conduct had on public policy.

Consider the recent case of Jack Ryan, winner of the Republican primary contest to run for the U.S. Senate in Illinois. A wealthy, urbane, handsome man of 44, Ryan held a commanding lead over his Democratic opponent, Barack Obama, only to be sandbagged by the most lurid allegations of misconduct in sex clubs with his ex-wife....

McGreevey's confessed misconduct not only seriously impacted New Jersey public policy, it has destroyed his career, shamed his wife and children and debased the high office he held. And that, clearly, is only the beginning of the sordid saga.
