Al-Qaeda (and other criminal conspiracies) routinely bribe customs/immigration people-so why not TSA ?

I think one of the most revealing bits of video showed a private screener "re-checking" some of the 9/11 hijackers who had set off alarms.I find it hard to believe this screener was not "looking the other way" and merely going through the motions of re-screening the hijackers.

You could argue this was a private screener-not duly certified by the TSA-but TSA hired a LOT of those private screeners at improved salaries,and made them more difficult to get rid of.

That is why I still put a padlock on my checked bag.

I use cable ties. Cheap, they still have to cut something, and I get an indication that somebody's been into the bag. (Of course, I keep a small penknife in an unsealed pouch to open the bag at the other end.)

I also don't check laptops, cameras and other valuables.

I flew through Dulles before 911 and was amazed at the number of Ragheads working in security. I went through after 911 and the same people were working there and thats after a security check revealed that some of the employees had ties to terrorist organizations.
