The same company owns both newspapers.

I am, however, surprised that the Morning Call would be doing this. Its not like them to rock a democrat boat.

Because if they deliberately botch their plea to have the records opened, then no one else will be able to get them this year...and if they succeed in getting the records in spite of themselves, then they at least get to lead out front of whatever scandal may be contained therein, giving them an advantage on controlling the spin.
