I have some co-workers who couldn't get into the Kerry "townhall meeting" because they didn't have any democrat connections.

About ten years ago a teacher friend of mine tried to get into an NEA Convention and had a hard time even thought she was a delegate. She was wearing one of those small Velcro roses with the word "Life" on it. About the size of a penny. The guards nearly had a fit even after she produced her delegate's pass.
