CAN'T BUY ME LOVE (Kerry Upset At Vets Reception)

Sen. John Kerry is said by several advance staffers to have been visibly upset at the reception he received at the VFW convention on Wednesday in Cincinnati. "He was upset after the speech, visibly upset when he was out of public view," says a Kerry adviser, confirming the story.

Kerry was greeted by polite applause in the large auditorium, with many VFW members sitting with their arms crossed and not applauding at all. A few VFW members stood in the rear of the room with their backs turned to the dais.

Kerry appeared thrown by the reception, giving a flat, sometimes-meandering speech that was intended to be a strong rebuttal of President Bush's announced troop pullback in Europe and Korea.

Two things apparently changed Kerry's aggressive stance. First, before going onstage, Kerry was informed that NATO officials in Brussels had essentially backed the Bush proposal as being sound and in line with NATO's own troop deployment plans. Second, according to an advance staffer, the candidate had been told that he would be received at the very least warmly, based on feedback the campaign had received from VFW officials.

"He's not used to not getting a warm reception," says the advance staffer. "He can handle the Bush hooligans we get, but when he's told he'll be greeted well, he expects that to be the case."

Apparently Terry Kerry's money can't buy the candidate that kind of love.

What a whiner Kerry is. It's always someone else's fault.

Given how he has lied about his fellow soldiers, he got exactly what he deserved and if he was surprised by it, that only reflects how badly out of touch he is.

FoxNews showed the event and two vets standing with their back turned towards Kerry during the speech. Does anyone have a pic or screen capture of this event and showing the two vets?

He wouldn't get much of a reception at any of the posts I have been at in the past few months. He'd be about as welcome as his buddy, Jane Fonda.

I can't believe the VFW would have him at all. And the muckety-mucks on the stage were intent on giving him a warm reception before the speech.

John Kerry adressed the very group he lied about in 1971.

I hope JFK was feeling God's wrath for his treachery

The single issue in this election is character.

John-boy should be glad he wasn't greeted by a chorus of boos or a massive walk-out. The Vets showed immense class by giving him a polite reception.

What sort of tantrum would this dork pull if one of our "allies" didn't show him the respect that he thought he deserved?

It`s called payback time. It`s what happens when someone takes center stage across the world to unsurped the morale and credibility of United States military and it`s Vets while at the same time emboldening the enemy. Let`s not forget, those Vets from Aru-Gharib are probably going to do jail time for doing something to our military and country that in my opinion was just as equal as to what Kerry did, if not less.

Imagine you're sitting in some shithole and your being tortured with techniques that leave you a wreck and your Vietnamese captors come in and want to discuss John Kerry's testimony calling you a war criminal with you.

Here's a link to one solider's account of torutre. It is truly awful.

Kerry has no shame.

The Senator betrayed his country and he betrayed his fellow Veterans. He spit on the military then spent his Senate career determined to destroy morale and disband this 'baby killing' force.

He was lucky this group of men had the strength of character not to do him bodily harm. He should be grateful the response was as retrained as it was.
