Perhaps you will tune in to the debates and the storm will pass.

I know, I know ... I'm an optimist. ;)

As a retired factory sales rep I appreciate the importance of optimism, you don't sell much product if you project a pessimistic attitude. BUT, it is becoming increasingly difficult to remain optimistic about the Bush campaign.

I don't see many Bush TV ads, and the ads I see are lame IMHO. He should be emphasizing the issues on which the majority of public opinion favors his position. I have not seen or heard any ads referring to wedge issues such as protecting traditional marriage, partial birth abortion, funding alternatives to failing public schools, or any of the social and economic issues which poll strongly in favor of Bush's positions and against Kerry's.

I understand that Karen Hughes is back on Bush's staff. If so, maybe she can turn the ship around in time. If not, we are in for a world of hurt come November IMHO. BTW, I have noticed that anyone who questions the wisdom of Bush's campaign people is immediately branded as a DU troll, or worse. If you want to check my posting record since I signed on to FR 6 years ago that accusation can be easily disproved.

"As a retired factory sales rep I appreciate the importance of optimism ... "

First off, I don't consider you, or many of those that voice criticisms of the Bush campaign, as trolls. We all have indiviual thoughts, and that is how it should be.

My thoughts are, that given the extremely short memory of the public, this race, for many, will come down to the debates. Those (expletive deleted) undecideds.

I know this; I am not a consultant to the campaign, and must trust those who are with bringing in a winner. It's much like driving as a passenger in a car. I sure wish I was driving.

Rather simpistic, I guess, given the enormity of the situation, and how it will effect our great nation.

I knew Herbert W. Bush was going to lose. Hell he didn't even try. I knew Bob Dole was going to lose. He was most unimpressive, and a Senator too long.

I do think GWB will win. The debates, the national safety and security thoughts of the people, the what if's concerning Kerry, all will be positives for him.

The polls at this time and place are only a bit useful for the campaign managers. They are absolutely worthless to you and I, other than to perpetuate the thought that this race is going to be nip and tuck.

The Dems have been screaming nothing but epitaphs at GWB, nothing positive.

The Vietnam war B/S is just that, B/S. GWB can beat Kerry on Kerrys anti American voting record.

I wish us all good luck! ;) Regards
