But never underestimate the ability of the NY Times (and lots of journalists) to
detach themselves from reality.

Supposedly the book is to appear on the NYT's bestseller list (if it already hasn't). It would be difficult for the NYT to studiously ignore THAT. Reality has never diverted them before from their liberal course, and I don't see happening now even if this book is number one for a year.
