If they run Hillary in 2008, it will prove once and for all the Democrats have absolutely no sense. Their future lies in younger, more dynamic candidates such as Evan Bayh of Indiana, and Harold Ford of Tennessee - I suggest a Bayh / Ford ticket in 2008 would be more compelling and more difficult to defeat than Lady MacBeth of Little Rock. She is a polarising figure and her ambition is far too naked, in other words, an easy target.

Regards, Ivan

Press is NOT ignoring - they are permitting the debate, despite the fact that there has been no substance to Kerry's defense, and his story has continued to change. The press is "giving this legs" and that is unusual. They could be covering far more important stories, but they appear to assign importance for the viewing audience to hear about this. They have the power to turn this issue off - they have chosen not to.

The only reason they're giving this story legs is to discredit it fully. They're following marching orders from the Kerry campaign.

Not going to happen. If they remove Kerry from the ticket (which they are not going to do), it will be so damaged that anyone they put up in his place won't have a chance.

not too sure we can win against the hate,

That, actually, has been a very effective tool for me this election run-up. Liberals, being the emotional-sensitive types, really seem to "get it" when I point out that the "Anyone but Bush" campaign, if successful, will be the first election based on hate in our history. "How can anything good come from that?", I ask. While I realy abhor moronic rhetorical questions like that, it has resonated nicely a few times. While I doubt I made any converts to grassroots conservatism, I bet a few won't go to the polls to support a campaign of hate, no matter how much they are told to dislike GWB, Ashcroft, etc.

This is too terible to ponder.....

If you think Hillary! as president is too terrible to ponder consider this....

The position she really wants is chief justice of the Supreme Court. She knows she can't be elected to the presidency but if the right Democrat can be elected in '08 she has a very good chance to be appointed, and approved by the Democrat dominated Senate for the post she has been salivating over since she was in law school. She encourages that talk about running for president only as a diversion to her real ambition.

Bayh is well-spoken and articulate but Ford strikes me as too partisan, too slick, and corrupt to the core. Besides, this is the Clinton's party and as I previously posted, the price they will demand for their considerable support will be that they nominate Hillary! for the Supreme Court.

I think Bush is too nice of a guy to go on the attack. I think the strategy from Karl Rove's point of view is to wait until after the Republican convention to start a new ad campaign against Kerry's proposed policies.

It's an interesting thought and many of us have speculated that the plan all along was for Hillary to fly in on her broom at the convention. But I think that her current plan is now to go for 2008.

Plus, don't forget Edwards. If Kerry drops out or is pushed out and they don't bump Edwards up then you basically have the RATS admitting that they nominated TWO people who aren't fit to command.

I don't think there are too many remaining consrevatives that would vote differently, but with Hitlery, many more ignorant-types would pour out of the more energized lib side...

Kerry's campaign is full of Clintonistas. Lockhart signing on is just too obvious. Kerry has been had and if we sit back on the SwiftBoat ads only, we're suckers, too.

If it CAN happen, it will. Hildebeast would know how, and it would be her best chance to get elected.

However, I'm not sure it CAN. John Edwards would seem to be the candidate, by default, if J.F'n.K. drops out.

Meek, I'm not so sure anymore. Too many weird things going on....we've been watching the Dork Candidate and may have missed the Stealth Candidate. I think Kerry was advised by the Clintonistas on his staff to go with the Viet Nam story as a diversion. Its sleight of hand...Kerry is just a minor detail. The SwiftBoat ad is devastating to Kerry campaign...HRC could finish Kerry off at the most opportune moment...

Hillary has no intention of running this year. But a self-destructing Kerry will leave her the prohibitive favorite for 2008.

Anything is possible, I suppose. My brother called be a couple of hours
ago and he still thinks hitlery will swoop in and "save the party".

He's a staunch GOP, too. He's voting for Bush.
