A tour of duty in Vietnam was 12 months, one-year. Vets would make a backwards calendar and start marking off their "tour" day be day...365, 364, 363 and so on.

When a Vet hit 99 days left on his tour he was considered "Double Digit"....Getting "Short".

When a Vet got to where he only had a few weeks left in country he was considered "Short" and not expected to perform menial tasks, walk point, or do anything too dangerous. "Man, get somebody else to do that, I'm SHORT" was heard a lot.

"Single Digit"....forget it, lucky to see him out of his rack.

Now, lets take a look at Kerry's "Tour of Duty". He spent 4 months in-country, one month of which was in training, so he really only spend 3 months in the field. But he was in-country 4 months, so lets give him that. He named his book "Tour of Duty" when in fact, he did not have a tour of duty, he had a partial tour of duty.

It is important to factual and accurate when writing a book because if you are caught in a lie, your credibility comes into question. A man without credibility is worthless, especially if your are caught telling lies in order to get people to vote for you for the highest office in the land.

So Kerry needs to change the name of his book to more accurately reflect the reality, the truth, of the matter. Here are some suggested new titles for Kerry's book "Tour of Duty"

"Partial Tour of Duty"

"A Little Bit of Duty"

"Some Duty"

"33.3% of a Tour of Duty"

"I Lied and First Named This Book "Tour of Duty" when I Didn't Really Serve a Full Tour"

"I Left My Shipmates Early and Only Served 4 Months in Vietnam"

There may be other truthful names.

25% of a Tour of Duty

when you think about it....that is the kind of Tour of Duty, Kerry has in the Senate too...having missed 75 percent of the Senate Votes, Kerry also missed 75% of his tour of Duty.
