His Bronze Star citation says, "The Combat Distinguishing Device is authorized." Of course that one looks like it's signed by John Lehman, too. Are people sure that's whose signature that is?

Kerry's Bronze Star was authorized WITH Combat "V"...
However - the citation mentions TWO mines -- while all the other officers from the incident reported only ONE mine.

The citation also mentions fire from the banks...again, all other officers reported NO FIRE and there was no gunfire damage to any boats or crew...

Also --- this citation states that Kerry "discovered he had a man overboard" and returned to the scene of the mine explosion -------This seems to confirm that the SF officer was on Kerry boat, and must have fallen overboard when Kerry hit the gas to bug out DOWN RIVER... Exactly as the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth charged....

This Bronze Star is BULLSHIT.....
NOTHING in Kerry's action on that day warranted a Bronze Star -- his AAR must have been filled with Bravo Sierra.

Kerry's actions while on the Swift Boats, and his actions once returning home -- proves him to be a man without character, morals or trustworthiness...

He's a political whore in the worst way..

Vietnam Veterans Against John Kerry

Kerry's Bronze Star Citation, was recommended by the Commander of Coastal Division ELEVEN, Charles F. Horne and signed by Admiral Zumwalt. It reads:

For heroic achievement while serving with Coastal Division ELEVEN engage in armed conflict with Viet Cong communist aggressors in An Xuwan Provence, Republic of Vietnam on 13 March, 1969. Lietenant (junior grade) KERRY while serving as an Officer-in-Charge of Inshore Patrol Craft 94, one of five boats conducting a SEA LORDS operation in the Bay Hap River. While exiting the river, a mine detonated under another Inshore Patrol Craft and almost simultaniously, another mine detonated wounding Lieutenant (junior grade) KERRY in the right arm. In addition all units began receiving small arms and automatic weapons fire from the riverbanks. When Lieutenant (junior grade) KERRY discovered he had a man overboard, he returned upriver to assist. The man in the water was receiving sniper fire from both banks. Lieutenant (junior grade) KERRY directed his gunners to provide suppressing fire, while from an exposed position on the bow his arm bleeding and in pain and with disregard for his personal safety he pulled the man aboard. Lieutenant (junior grade) KERRY his boat to return and assist the other damaged boat to safety Lieutenant (junior grade) KERRY's calmness professionalism and great personal courage under fire were in keeping with the highest traditions of the United States Naval Service.

Lieutenant (junior grade) KERRY is authorized to wear the Combat V

Thanks. Kerry has obviously been "fine tuning" parts of his service record since the 70's. Kind of interesting for a guy who threw his (or someone else's) medals over the White House fence. Most people file their 214 away with other important documents and forget about em. Kerry has been trying to cover his bases with changes to his official records in later years.

re: "How many "clerical errors" does it take to form a pattern of outright resume fabrication?"

I know Kerry has patterned his life after John F. Kennedy, but when you come right down to it his life is much more like that of Bill Clinton. Anytime he's caught in one of his lies his first defense is to pawn it off as a clerical or typographical error. If it could really become a problem, then they move to destroy the person who had the audacity to point out the discrepancy! The more likely you're dealing with a lie the more violent the response from Kerry/Clinton.

How was Kerry's arm bleeding if the casualty report says that the wound was a "contusion" -- bruise?

But same citation, signed by Lehman has different wording. Why?

It's pretty ironic that you've got guys like Kerry and Harkin exaggerating and lying about their service during the Vietnam War while on the other side of the war, you've got millions exaggerating and lying about being at Woodstock.

Kerry is a war hero. It takes loads of courage to shoot a fleeing naked wounded teenager in the back, with your buddies manning 50-cal guns behind you. He faced those seemingly insumountable odds...and got the job done. How dare anyone question such unmistakable valor!

"NOTHING in Kerry's action on that day warranted a Bronze Star "

Especially after leaving the scene of an incident where another PCF received damage and there were wounded.

This should have gotten him a Court Martial by rights.

I served under one Gunny - that NO DOUBT would have shot the bastard for turning from the fight, abandoning wounded men adrift in a boat in trouble...

It's a miracle that Kerry wasn't killed by "friendly fire" before he left Vietnam...

In reading about his repeated violations of the rules, I find it hard to understand why the guys who support him, do so. He put them all in harm's way, put their lives in danger, just so he could get his sorry a$$ out of Vietnam before the rest of them. I guess money can buy all the brothers you want.

That's also possibly another reason they got Kerry out of there early. And they needed him out of there before his medal hunt got some of our guys killed.

So, what was the controversy over Admiral Boorda's "V"? The one he wound up taking his own life over in the early years of Bubba I.

Yes, it's Lehman's. Some of us checked months ago.

The better question is to why it's lehman's, who sKerry authorized for release.

It's gotta either be $$$ or fame. That's the only thing that makes ANY sense to me.

Or power. Helping an old acquaintance into the White House has got to be worth some Presidential favors.
