Could be fun. I don't know about Italy's view on foreigners owning real estate. I have an obscenely wealthy friend who looked into buying a home in Switzerland. He didn't give me all the details, but he said there was so much government red tape involved he felt they didn't welcome foreigners buying land. He dropped the matter altogether.
