What's Tarrent county doing in Houston?

Regarding the three prisoners reportedly injured, how ironic that they now have personal injury claims against Metro or the prison system arising out of the accident. Certainly they will be solicited by runners and etc. trying to steer them to local personal injury attorneys, but I wonder if they will hire the same attorney who represented them unsuccessfully in their criminal cases. Client loyalty is a strange thing sometimes.

The Chronicle only sporadically reports them now for obvious reasons.Yeah, they're embarrassed that Houstonians obviously don't know how to drive!

Not to mention the accidental release on their website of an internal memo "guiding" reporters to push rail in the election. That had to sting.

The driver of the Tarrant County prison van reportedly made an illegal right turn onto Commerce and was hit by the train. Did the sheriff get cited for making an illegal turn? If so, I am sure that it is a rarity in Houston (then again, this wasn't a Harris County official).

They know how to drive just fine. It takes skill to drive those freeways :') They just don't like their train. Darn thing keeps getting in the way:') Besides the van from the Ft Worth area.

At least it wasn't an SUV.

Eight prisoners...all of whom were non-violent drug offenders doing short time were burned alive. Prison is a dangerous place!!! Traveling handcuffed in a vehicle is dangerous. Dealing with drug dealers is dangerous.
While I feel sorry for these 8 people, when you engage in dangerous activity, sometimes it will bite you!
Doing something that gets you put into prison increases your chances of having bad things happen to you (no matter how trivial your crime is). BTW, being in prison is bad enough that the Red Cross no longer wants your blood if you have recently been in one.....

Yep, that Tarrant County deputy wasn't aware of trains running down the road way in town..... now just wait until they get that 'Cotton Flyer' or whatever they are calling it running between Fort Worth and Dallas..... Lots of mileage for wrecks along with more speed.....
